Now….refill that coffee and let’s get to chatting!
Bugs. HUGE bugs. Bugs the size of shoes. Ah, yes, friends. These are Texas bugs – and it really is true that everything is bigger in Texas! Last night, I (Jeni) was going out to the patio to enjoy the cool air after a pretty warm day. On my way down the hall (barefoot), I stepped in or on (I couldn’t tell yet) something and it made a really icky sound, and made my foot wet. If you’re squeamish or eating, stop reading here.
I thought maybe the cats dropped some cat food or something, but then realized….nope. That’s a HUGE BUG! It was gross, you guys. Like seriously NASTY. it was about the size of a pack of gum – like the wide packs of Stride. I grabbed my roommate to come look, and because our hall light is out (that reminds me, I need to buy bulbs), we had to look at it with a flash light. I’m not joking when I say that this bug’s guts were neon green with SPARKLES in it. It literally looked like the thing ate some glitter or something. What in the WORLD!? I swear, I’ve washed my foot about 5 times now. I would have taken a picture for you, but that isn’t something you want to see first thing in the morning (or ever). In fact, this isn’t really something you would want to HEAR or READ first thing either….. but, that’s what’s on my mind this morning!
I think I need to walk around with a net around me from now until Winter.
Have you ever had any experiences with gross bugs?
I, Clo, have been working on this post for a while. It went from being about the islands to about what I love, hate, about it, to being just a few tips. Any who, I’m pretty proud of the outcome. I think it came out just long enough without it being too lengthy. I’m not sure if I shared with you, but I finally got published on the Huffington Post about a month ago. It’s been really amazing and so far I have 3 posts live on the site. I submitted this post this morning and hope it gets approved. Once it gets approved, I hope many people enjoy learning about Kauai and a few of my favorite things to do. Life on Kauai truly is amazing. Sometimes I get sick of it. Everyone needs change, but I’ve learned to accept it and to value it. After all it is a blessing to live on such a beautiful island. Without further ado, here is my posting. Enjoy!

My (now ex) husband came out of the shower and grabbed a pair of jeans from the laundry basket. Then started screaming and tore the jeans off because there was a giant Junebug in them!
