That chill in the air means it’s definitely Spring! Welcome to April! Flowers are peeking out, the rain is giving our lawns a nice, fresh green color, and the sun is out just a little more during the day. But what’s on sale this month? Gardening supplies are on sale – but not as low as we find them in October. Didn’t stock up in the Fall? That’s ok, because the prices on lawn, patio, swimming pool and gardening care are still pretty amazing! If you need these items, now is the time to get them – because we’ll see clearance prices in May, but stock is usually very low by then. In fact, we’ve been posting some incredible deals on outdoor items you might want to check out HERE! Here is what to expect on sale in April:
Easter:
Easter clearance is in full swing right now (the first week of April). You’ll get tons of great items on sale for up to 90% off the original prices, so retailers can empty those shelves and get ready for Summer stuff. Keep in mind that National Jelly Bean Day is April 22nd – so we may see more coupons and mark downs for those items. Anything Easter related, including brunch and dinner fixins, Easter baskets, small toys and Easter dresses/suits will all be on sale throughout the month! In fact, this month is one of the 2 times during the year that retailers cut prices on kids’ dress clothes (Christmas is the other time), so it’s a nice time to get some new, fancy apparel for the kids!
Electronics:
It’s the end of the fiscal year for Japanese companies in April. Although we may not really care about fiscal years and financial business stuff, it IS important for consumers like us! This means that we need to be watching for laptop, tablet and TV deals, as the Japanese companies need to clear their inventory for the new items! We’ll also see nice sales on tablet cases, laptop bags, Bluetooth boxes and more accessories. Mother’s and Father’s Day are coming soon, so retailers want you to have great deals on gift ideas, as well.
Clothing:
April is the time to get your rain gear! Umbrellas, rain boots and lightweight jackets are all on sale this month. You’ll even notice that swimsuits are marked down, as well! We’ve already been seeing bathing suits sales as early as the beginning of MARCH this year. April is the month when we begin to see Summer clothing starting to hit the retail stores and online sites. Skirts, capris, tank tops, flip-flops, dresses……all of that will have nice discounts this month.
Earth Day (April 22):
Earth Day is April 22nd – so we’ll see some really cool freebies (reusable bags, seeds for planting, coupons for eco-friendly products, etc.) and some great coupons come out this month. Some restaurants even honor great sale prices, too. A lot of retailers like to host Earth Day “Sales” – but be sure to watch the blog, so we can let you know if they are actually great deals!
Taxes:
A lot of fun freebies and deals come out on April 15th – to give you some relief from the stress of the tax deadline. We’ll also get a lot of car dealerships sprouting up with sales – because they know you have a nice chunk of change from your refund. Beware! Compare prices first.
