Happy new year, my lovelies!
I’ve received a ton of emails over the last couple of months, asking if Morning Coffee and Happy Hour are still going on. I love all of the support and love for those series on the blog!
The quick and short answer is that I had to have emergency eye surgery on November 20th – and having one functioning eye while the other is healing from trauma via surgery is pretty tough! Sarah and I decided to take a break from Morning Coffee and Happy Hour for a bit, to let it heal and let my vision come back.
Good news! Morning Coffee and Happy Hour will be BACK this month! Woohoo! Thank you all for the awesome emails and love you show for these series – we love that you enjoy your morning coffee with us every morning and can’t wait to get back to it!
The longer version: I have ICE Syndrome in my left eye. You can find out more about that rare disorder HERE. I also shared my story and a photo of my eye on Morning Coffee a couple of years ago. See that HERE. It’s unpredictable, and I have a rare form of Glaucoma in that eye because of it. On November 19th, the pressure in my eye suddenly skyrocketed. Normal range is 8-21. Mine was 62. This was extremely dangerous and I could have lost my eye, so emergency surgery was the only option. The pain was unbelievable and unbearable, but I got through it, and every week, my vision gets better. I don’t have to wear the eye patch anymore now… but miss kids pointing and saying, “Mommy! I see a pirate!” or “Mom! That lady only has one eye!” 😉

I have never heard of this. I hope you are feeling better!
Thanks, Dana! Super rare – so I’m like a lab rat at the doctor’s office! LOL
It sounds really painful. I clicked on the link you posted and teared up a bit thinking about it because my eyes are real sensitive. I hope you have a great weekend Jeni!
