Pizza in a Pan Recipe

Who doesn’t love pizza!?  When you need a quick and easy, mouth-watering meal for your family that will get you rave reviews, go for Pizza in a Pan!  This recipe allows you to add in the extra toppings you love, or keep it simple for a pasta-style dish that really tastes like pizza.

Pizza in a Pan Recipe

What you need:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef

1 medium sized onion

1 medium size green bell pepper

1 can tomato sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 jar pizza sauce

2 packages (3.5 oz each) sliced pepperoni

3 cups spiral pasta, cooked and rinsed

2 cups mozzarella cheese

What you’ll do:

Cook the ground beef, pepper and onion over medium heat in a skillet or large pan until meat is cooked through. Drain and return to pan. Keep heat at medium-low. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste and pizza sauce.  Remove the mixture and place in a large bowl. Sprinkle a layer of the meat mixture on the bottom of the pan, keeping heat at medium-low. Layer pasta on top. Layer pepperoni on top of pasta.  Sprinkle cheese on top of pepperoni.  Repeat layers so that they cover the entire pan, until you end with cheese on top.  Put the lid on the pan and let the cheese melt.  Leave the pan on medium-low until you’re ready to serve it up.  This goes GREAT with garlic bread and a salad for a complete meal!

*You can also add in your favorite toppings like black olives, artichoke hearts, pineapple, ham, sausage, red bell pepper, bacon, green olives, mushrooms and more.  Whatever you love on a pizza, you can top this skillet meal with them. Jazz it up even more with hot sauce or a different type of cheese. Try different pasta noodles and make it a really fun meal for your family!

  18. WE occasionally do things like this on the stock, but we usually do them in a cast iron. It is good to know you don’t have to use cast iron for these, because those pans can be a bit of a hassle!!
