Gooooood Monday morning! Have you watched The Movies That Made Us on Netflix yet? If not – WATCH IT! If you grew up in the 80s, you’ll definitely want to see this show. It’s from the same folks that make the The Toys That Made Us series, and it’s absolutely brilliant!
This series features movies that went beyond expectation – movies EVERYONE knows. It features four movies (so it’s four episodes): Home Alone, Ghostbusters, Dirty Dancing, and Die Hard. And holy moly – the behind the scenes information in each of these is mind-blowing! So interesting!! I (Jeni) LOVE LOVE LOVE the 80s, love movies, and love this kind of stuff!
What movie would you like to see in the series?
I (Sarah) love candles. I love my house smelling nice and enjoy the warmth they give off. I recently found this hilarious Bachelorette Scented Candle – which says it smells “like the first impression rose, dreaded group dates, just make it to the hometowns, I can’t believe I’m in love with two people.” It’s actually rose scented HAHA!
Then, of course, you have this company called, Define Design 11 candles. OMG they have something for everyone! The zodiac sign candles are hilarious… but they also have candles for every Golden Girls character, Serenity by Jan (from The Office), McDreamy (Grey’s Anatomy), Luke’s (Gilmore Girls), state candles and a TON more. I had so much fun just browsing these!
What are your favorite candle scents?
Eeeek! I (Jeni) LOVE the Beverly Hills Cop movies! Eddie Murphy is so funny 🙂 This 3 Beverly Hills Cop movie collection on Blu-Ray is only $15.99 right now, and the DVD is just $8.94!
This might be the best $8 I (Jeni) have ever spent. It’s a Hair/Scalp Shampoo Massager… and it works better than your fingers because it evenly massages and exfoliates your scalp. I LOVE mine and am purchasing a few more as gifts today! There’s a reason it has a 4.5/5 star rating from over 7,000 people!
This is too cute! This couple, Rebecca & Marvin Beavers, met at their local grocery store in Ohio. Rebecca was a cashier, and Marvin was her trainee. They got married 7 years later, and decided to get their wedding photos taken in the cereal aisle of that store- where he first asked for her phone number. Awwww! See all the photos HERE!
Where did you meet your significant other?
Ok, so these are really fancy…. and might just take over noise-cancelling headphones! These are Bose Sunglasses: UVA/UVB-blocking, with tiny speakers at the temples. And the coolest part – no one around you can hear anything! See all of their amazing features HERE!
What new tech are you checking out lately?
I (Jeni) love wearing rings, and this adorable bunny ring holder is absolutely PERFECT! I mean, seriously – they are adorable AND functional! It’s so much more fun than a jewelry dish, that’s for sure!
How do you store your rings?
Are you a fast food breakfast kind of person? I (Sarah) think I will become one, because McDonald’s just added chicken to their breakfast menu!!! The Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuit will only be around for a limited time, starting at 6am. I’m pretty excited! Also, Wendy’s will start selling breakfast starting March 2nd! And their menu looks AMAZING!
What’s your favorite breakfast?
If dinner can be ready in five minutes, would you want to make it? DUH! Check out this 5-Minute Taco recipe! And seriously, it really does take just 5 minutes to make them. They feature “chorizo-style” eggs – which look amazing!
What’s the fastest dinner you put together?

I will have to check out the movies that made us! I love behind the scenes info. Oo and I’ll have to go to McDonald’s for that breakfast. They both look amazing!
That 5 minute Taco recipe looks great! My favorite breakfast is home made blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup but I rarely take the time to make them.
these are so great- i love the movies that made us laugh- def on my list to watch today
You had me at taco and I can always eat them for dinner. I love all four of those movies and the Beverly Hills Cop series.
I was so not ready to get up this morning! lol Thanks for the laughs. I’ve been revisiting classic movies too, some of my faves.
We’re going to have to watch that show on Netflix now. We were considering checking it out but we never got around to it!
That son and dad hair photo is a riot. Thanks for the laugh.
OMG! I love the Beavers love story. It was such a great idea to take photos at the grocery store too.
We just recently introduced our kids to Home Alone. They were rolling on the floor they laughed so hard.
I love the having wedding photos taken in the cereal aisle story… what a great way to document the start of their relationship.
I watched that series!! I loved the Home Alone one! The others not as much. I must not be as invested in them.
My favorite early morning chicken biscuit used to be Wend’s Chicken Biscuit. It was the yummiest thing EVER!!!
I love all those movies you have listed in the beginning. Those sure are some great classic ones. I’ve seen them all.
I’d like the Hair/Scalp Shampoo Massager. I love having my head massaged.
I’m so excited to try that taco recipe! We eat a mostly plant-based diet and I know this is going to be a big hit with my family!
These are some neat shares.. haven’t seen a few of those movies yet.. sadly!! Funny images!
I can think of several movies that I used to watch as a kid that I still quote. Crazy how that works!
I have debated watching The Movies That Made Us, I started it and there it sits as a “do you want to continue watching” thing on my Netflix list. Maybe I’ll give it another shot.
I have to watch that show. I love movies from the 80s. The bunny ring holder is so cute! I want one.
These Big Activity Book for Couples sound soooo interesting and fun to play with my wife. I’m sure she’ll enjoy this. And that 5-Minute Taco recipe is absolutely delicious.
I always enjoy watching the behind the scenes of either films or TV shows so, I will have to check The Movies That Made Us on Netflix. 🙂
How did we miss this? We were just browsing Netflix yesterday and never came across The Movies That Made Us or the Toys series. I am going to find it today and start watching.
I grabbed a Coke at McDonalds yesterday and the cup mentioned McChickens for breakfast! I’ve never had any of their McChicken but I like breakfast sandwiches so I’ll have to check it out!
Those candles are amazing. I think I will have to buy them as gifts for all my favorite people!
Heard lots about The Movies That Made Us,. I will need to look into it further. You can’t ever go wrong with candles, they are so relaxing.
I really need that 5 minutes taco recipe, I need something easy for our family dinners, it looks so delicious too
So many fun things! I really like the bachelorette scented candle! lol
Those are some super cute wedding photos. I love seeing them in the store; my hubby and I have great memories there too!
okay, now I’m off to look for The Movies that Made Us! I didn’t know that it was on Netflix.
Tacos are my go to last minute dinner. It’s something that looks like it takes time, but it’s fast and delicious. My daughter loves making Guacamole, so that’s one less thing I have to do.
I love fast food breakfast! I can’t wait to order some Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuit from McDonald’s! Sound delicious!
Lovely shares, definitely enjoyed reading the list.. great gifts.. recipes too.
I love that hair scrubber! $8 is not bad at all. I would love to watch the movies that made us!
It’s AMAZING!
Loved the mention of the movies from our youth assuming your a millennial or older. Society now has so many options and each generation seems to have less of a idea of what it’s like to share the experience of just watching whatever the networks threw at us and sometimes only being able to see a show one time such as Saturday night live or an interview where you had to set the time to watch it. In many ways it’s better now of course but I still get nostalgic for those days.
