Lately, I, Clo have been enjoying yoga. And now just because it’s been a popular trending fitness benefit but because it’s fun. Yoga has not only been fun and hard work but it’s been worth it.
Yoga can do so much for your body, mind and over all life. Many may not realize it or believe it but when you take the time to truly dig deep and let your mind relax it can do magic. You can unwind and become a whole new person. A better, more committed, more go-getter and over all more relaxed. In all, you’ll be more HAPPIER. So why yoga? I do yoga for happiness. Because when I feel good, I feel happy and when I am not so stressed and get things done I am happy.
Yoga is a great activity for you if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease. It gives you strength, flexibility, and mind-body awareness. It also has many, many other health benefits. I recommend you to check them out and see what yoga can do for you.
Have you tried yoga? What’s your take?
This last weekend, Bryan (the boyfriend) took me (Jeni) to the Fort Worth Zoo. We spent the day walking around and having so much fun, I barely noticed it was 90 degrees outside. This zoo is one of the coolest, biggest zoos in the country, and I live about 10 minutes from it, so we had to take advantage of that. I have to admit, I was super duper excited to see the apes and monkeys, big cats, elephants, and snakes.
I think the animals were definitely feeling the heat, though, because although it was a really fun day, the animals were being jerks. Most were hiding in their caves and inside areas, or lounging between cool rocks in their little habitats. The gorillas all had their backs to us, and were acting bored and lethargic, and the rhinos were sleeping. The lions were all cuddled up on a high rock, so we could barely see them, and the tiger (which was AMAZING and gorgeous) was definitely not impressed with the day. The most active animals were the Meerkats – which creep me out, honestly. I don’t like small mammals. Ew. We saw a HUGE (I mean HUGE, guys) crocodile that was sleeping with it’s mouth open, and that was really neat, too!
The zoo has a neat little train you can ride, too. It runs for about 30 minutes, and goes through some really nice parts of Fort Worth, so after leaving the jerk animals, we rode on the train. All in all, it was an awesome day, and I have to be honest – I tried REALLY hard to maintain my composure, and not let my child-like enthusiasm and excitement take over while we were there. That being said, Bryan still had to chase me down as I ran from one animal area to the next- like it was Christmas morning, I was 5, and Santa left a huge haul under the tree for me. This weekend, we decided to go to the Dallas Zoo, so I’m looking forward to that! Maybe I’ll get some better pictures of animals there!
What are your favorite zoo animals? Have you been to your local zoo lately?

Check out how I feel on this topic and find out how you can support the cause.
So, yesterday was Best Friend Day. I (Jeni) wasn’t even aware of this, until my bestie, Sarah, sent me this SUPER sweet surprise! She knows that Amazon gift cards make me happy, and her note attached to it absolutely made my week. I’ve read it about 20 times and will probably read it another 20 before the week is over. How stinkin’ sweet is she!?

Ok, it’s Summer. It’s hot outside. Soup isn’t really an appropriate dinner choice, right? If this Bacon Cheeseburger Soup is wrong, I (Jeni) don’t want to be right. I don’t care how hot it is outside….I’m making this for dinner tonight, and can’t wait. I played with this recipe for months, until I got the PERFECT combination. POW! BAM! KABLOOIE! It’s amazing and seriously tastes like a bacon cheeseburger. Make it, and I promise you’ll thank me!
Road to Hana. It’s one of the most dangerous roads in the world. And believe it or not, Winston and I, Clo just came back from riding this road less than a week ago. It’s 63 miles long of over 300 curves, 60 bridges and cliffs among cliffs.
Sad story today as two twin sisters fell 200 feet to a rocky shore and now one of the twins are being charged with murder. According to a witness, the sisters were arguing and the driver accelerated then plunging them off the cliff.
I actually passed this area being repaired while we drove along the road. And it wasn’t the first car we saw at the bottom of the cliff. As we drove we saw about 2 other cars that have flee off the cliff. It’s definitly a dangerous road, but whats on the road is worth the drive, if you pay attention and are safe.
Jeni’s thoughts on this: GEESH! First, that’s a scary road, for sure. But I think the real story is in the twin sister fight, ending with a death and a murder charge! I worked in homicide for 10 years, so that’s the part that really fascinates me. So, the sister that died was pulling the driver’s hair and they were arguing. And the air bag module shows that the driver did not brake before accelerating and hitting the wall. In fact, once out of critical condition, the driver tried to leave the state. Panicked much? And check this out – the sister’s had both changed their names when they moved to Hawaii for their yoga business. Hmmmmm. I’m going to totally follow this weird story!
