Last week, reader Michelle left a comment, asking us what our superhero name would be, and what our super powers would be. What a fun question! Thanks so much, Michelle – you just scored a $10 Amazon gift card or Paypal deposit! Leave us a question in the comments, and if we answer it during Morning Coffee, you’ll get a $10 gift card, too!
Hmmmmm…..well, I (Jeni) am a feisty, fiery, quirky, silly redhead. A good friend always calls me “Ginger Snap,” so I think that should be my superhero name! Sounds more like a Power Puff Girl or Spice Girl name, but let’s go with it! Now, for my super power. Batman doesn’t have any super powers, and he’s my favorite. Iron Man is only a superhero because of an outfit he puts on. So I think Ginger Snap could be just as awesome, without having any super powers. That’s my super power – awesomeness! Ginger Snap will make you laugh, help you feel good about yourself every day, and gives amazing hugs! She bleeds glitter, cries frosting tears and fights bullies with love. Man, my cheesy super hero is sounding more like a cartoon character from the 80’s, and less of a badass that fights crime and zooms around the city. 😉
Well.. there’s a first for everything right! Haha. I, Clo, don’t think I’v ever been asked this question but here goes nothing. If I was a superhero hero I would probably be “The Masked Artist.” Why? Well.. ever since I was a child I’ve loved the arts, everything and anything about it. What would my power be? Let’s just say I’d help the world one step at a time through art. I’d be able to give children and adults the power to be creative, and bring out their true talent. I feel that way the world can really bring people to their fullest potential. Imagine that!

Tonight, I (Jeni) am making my Creamy Chicken Shepherd’s Pie. I can’t WAIT for dinner now, and it’s only 6am!! 🙂 It’s so delicious and different, because of the ingredients – I use lemon, Ro-tel, black beans and other stuff you don’t find in a normal shepherd’s pie recipe. Mmmmm-mm!
What do you have cooking in your kitchen?
No doubt that if you have social media, you’ve seen the horrible fire in Fort McMurray, Alberta. It’s been devastating. Over 400,000 acres torched, 900,000 people evacuated, 1,600+ homes and buildings burned down and this fire that’s left devastation in an area 1/2 the size of Rhode Island, is 0% contained. This makes me (Jeni) SO sad. I lived in Canada for a year, and have lots of Canadian friends. My heart goes out to the country and the people affected by this fire. It reminds me of devastation from Hurricane Catrina, and how the country bonded together to help out. That’s inspiring, but it’s sad that this is what it takes. 🙁 Read more about this crazy fire HERE.
CLO’S THOUGHTS ON THIS ARTICLE: I’ve been keeping a close eye on this fire. It’s pretty heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine how many of these residents feel right now. I wouldn’t even know where to go or what to do. I know fire fighters and officials are doing all they can do but I wish there was something more.
