Sometimes the best things in life are free. One of the best things I’ve done in awhile was hiking the Mahaulepu trail. Yesterday I went hiking and the views were worth it. Of course it was strenuous and not easy it was amazing. I finished off my day hitting the beach and came across this huge sea turtle. What a wonderful way to end the day! This week I challenge you to get out there and do something special and fun. Enjoy life’s little moments and do something new and adventurous. You never know where life might take you!
What is something fun you did this weekend?
This weekend, Bryan and I (Jeni) decided to hit the theatre for some matinees on Saturday and Sunday. First up was Independence Day. We were pretty excited about seeing this movie, because the first one was so awesome. Plus, we needed something really good, after suffering through X-Men.
The plot was pretty simple: It’s been 20 years since the first movie came out (which is not only weird, it made us feel REALLY old), and America now had crazy awesome technology and futuristic defensive tactics and machines, and 20 years to prepare for another attack. But…. (ominous music)….the aliens did, too. (more ominous music).
Independence Day or Central Intelligence? Which was better?
Independence Day and fighting aliens just isn’t the same without Will Smith. Unfortunately, either was this movie. It was pretty lame. The entire movie was simply a set-up for a third movie, which I probably won’t see. The characters weren’t developed enough, and although it was great to see some of the original characters from the first movie, there were just too many.
The graphics and CGI effects were pretty awesome, but that’s about all of the good stuff I have to say about the movie. It was SUPER cheesy, and pretty disappointing. I don’t recommend going to see it, and I’m clearly not the only one, based on the general consensus of reviews.
FINALLY, a movie worth seeing! Central Intelligence stars the super sexy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and hilariously silly Kevin Hart. These two together are absolutely hysterical. The Rock is looking seriously amazing, too. If anything, go see this movie for the beautiful eye candy! 😉
I’m really happy we saw this movie. Central Intelligence had us laughing and giggling the entire movie. Although it was mostly predictable, this is the type of movie that will still keep your attention, even if you think you know what’s going to happen. Definitely go see it!

Well shoot I was excited to see the new Independence day movie! I have heard this more than once so I think I will take a pass on that movie (sadly).
I’m a big fan of Kombucha. I pick one up every now and again, and I do find they make a difference in my digestion. I really need to make it at home because it is much more affordable that way. And I’m right there with you on The Rock. He is not only yummy to look at, but also has a magnanimous personality.
Great post! I love those Vera Bradley picks – and Independence Day looks so good!
I’ve always been excited for that Dwayne Johnson x Kevin Hart movie, they have good chemistry and are really funny guys. You have very awesome deals here! Thanks for sharing your experience on Independence Day, now I know I made a good choice not watching it.
I may have to check out Central Intelligence. We haven’t actually been to the theater in a while because we’ve been so into renting.
I LOVED the time I spent on Kauai! I never wanted to leave.
I am so excited to see the Independence Day movie. I’ve seen the first one and I want to see its sequel.
The Mahaulepu trail sounds like a nice adventure that I want to try. I want to see the Independence day movie too!
I want to see both of those movies! Central Intelligence is one I’ve wanted to see since I saw the commercials. It looks like it’s going to be a funny one.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Xmen. I just love Kevin Hart, I first got to know about him as a stand-up and I’m really glad I’m seeing a lot of him in movies! Partnering him up with Dwayne Johnson is sure to to make me excited to see them together in that latest movie.
Great post! Independence day anytime. I am eager to watch this movie as soon as possible; however, Central Intelligence also looks awesome, but I’ll watch it later.
I really am looking forward to watching Central Intelligence. It looks so funny!
I am looking forward to seeing Independence Day. BTW, I love the troll dolls. That takes me back to my childhood!
