Now….refill that coffee and let’s get to chatting with Morning Coffee!
I, Clo, am not much for reptiles. Most of the time they actually really freak me out. There is only 3 types of reptiles that I truly don’t mind. First and my favorite is turtles! Second, is these little in house baby lizards and third is the orange-spotted gecko. Anyway, this little guy is quite unusual if you ask me. See a few nights ago he was wondering on my carpet when I noticed my cats playing with something. It was weird to see them actually playing with this little guy instead of killing it. My little sister quickly picked it up and named it Squirt. A few minutes later we put Squirt outside and let him enjoy life. Last night, I got home and was cutting some vegetables for my dinner when I saw Squirt come in through the window. Now, how do I know this is Squirt? Well, I took a picture of him when I first saw him, he has a few distinct details, such as the lighter coloring on the lower part of his body and the darkness at the tip of the tail. Plus, one foot is black and the others are whitish. So, here comes Squirt peaking his head in my window and jumps on me. Climbing up my arm he comes to a stop and just sits there. I’m puzzled at why he keeps coming back, what’s so enjoyable as I’m like 100x bigger than him. I’m not sure. A few minutes later I put him back outside, a bit further than I did the last time. I’m sure there is much more exciting things in life then trying to become a pet to some humans, plus I’m a bit worried my cats won’t be so friendly the next time around.
Ever had a weird encounter with a outdoor animal?
Girl’s Night Out. Sounds fun, right? Tuesday night, my (Jeni) good friend, Noemarie and I had plans for dinner and drinks together. It was just us girls, getting out and enjoying each other. Noemarie is a SUPER busy mom of 3 little boys, a wife, a loyal friend, daughter and sister, and she works full time at a junior high school. She’s of work for the Summer, and her boys are in Summer camp right now. During the school year, we rarely get to see each other because of her ridiculously busy schedule with work and her family, so we decided to take advantage of this new Summer freedom.
We had such an amazing time at our favorite sports bar, after having a yummy dinner together. But the evening turned into a something more than just dinner and drinks for a few hours. We stayed out until the bar closed, and felt like 20-something kids again! This isn’t something we have done in a while, and don’t get to do it very often, so being irresponsible for a change was actually refreshing and reviving for us. You’ll notice there was no Morning Coffee yesterday…and that’s because I took advantage of some wonderful girl time together and blew off my responsibilities. I don’t make a habit of doing this, but sometimes, a situation calls for letting loose and forgetting about the things that we have to do. I don’t feel guilty, because I got in some serious quality time with an amazing friend. It meant having my morning coffee (a little bit later in the morning) by myself….but dang, did we need a night out! 🙂
What would you do with a night out and away from responsibility?

Wow.. I can’t even begin to try and feel what this family is going through right now. Heck, I can’t even try to understand what the city of Orlando is going through right now.. With the murder of Christina Grimmie on Saturday, gay club massacre on Sunday and now this.
So if you haven’t heard, Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. a 2 year old was dragged into a lake on the shores of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. They finally found his body yesterday. This Nebraska family of 4 was relaxing on the shoreline when the alligator attacked the boy. The father entered the water and tried to pry the child from the gator, but was unsuccessful.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said rescue personnel had been actively looking for the child in the Seven Seas Lagoon for hours in a search and recovery effort but had not found him. They hoped to find him before daylight, he said. A dive team with sonar equipment was on standby — just part of a 50-person rescue team on the scene.
Jeni’s thoughts on this article?
Gah! What is GOING ON, you guys? Orlando – dang!
I’ve seen this story all over the news and social media. It’s heart breaking, and I can’t even imagine what that family is going through or will have to go through for the rest of their lives. I also can’t believe the entitled, hateful things that people are saying about the mother and the family. As if these social media parents were there and witnessed it. It’s sad, it’s very sad. Instead of casting blame and judgement on the family, we should be joining hands and praying together, and wishing the best for them during this impossible time. It always shocks me when a story like this comes out, and people decide it’s a good time to jump on their “I’m perfect” soap box to condemn and judge others. Blah. I feel sorry for those people.
Hopefully, the family can heal from this, eventually…somehow.
