That, my friends, is The Game of Life! Bryan and I (Jeni) had a game night this weekend, and the original Game of Life was our first competition of the evening. I absolutely LOVE board games, and have collected them for years. The new Game of Life looks so different and lame to me – so when I found this original version at a yard sale for $1, I scooped it up! My first job was a teacher, making $70,000 a year (yah, because that’s realistic, right?) My husband (John Cusack, of course), and I had 4 kids, and adopted 2 more. YIKES! I got to be the police officer the second game, and was raking in a sweet $90,000 for my paycheck. Talk about kickbacks and bribes!
Next, we pulled out one of my favorite games – Scrabble! As a Wordsmith, I pride myself on vocabulary and the ability to formulate words by manipulating letters. I’m kind of a big deal when it comes to Scrabble, and rarely lose. Clearly, I was off my game, because I got handed some humble pie, because Bryan didn’t just beat me once, he beat me TWICE! In all fairness, we didn’t swap letters, and I was working with ALL VOWELS at one point, including 4 of the letter “i.” It was still a blast, though, and we let our inner-kid silliness rule for a while (hence the word, “farts.”
Hmmm…I think next game night should include some classic Risk and a game or two of Stratego!
What are your favorite board games?
Ok, Ok. Let’s hope you all aren’t tired of me, Clo, raving about how much I adore Disney. Because this one is gonna be AWESOME! If you haven’t heard yet Disney’s Moana hits theaters Nov. 23 and is about the story of this girl Moana who lives in Hawaii. Now, many of you know that I live in Hawaii. Born and raised actually. So this hits home. So when I heard last year that Disney was creating an animated film about a girl in Hawaii.. I jumped for joy. My two favorite things are coming together. Being a Disney blogger I am especially honored to have the privilege to help announce the newest trailers, posters and more. This is huge for me. I know many of you may not realize it but it’s true. My dream job has always been to get a job at Disney, in the creative department. There were months that I applied for the internships when I was a senior in high school, then in college. Finally, last year I applied a number of times for some design jobs at the Disney location in California. I even hit an interview, but no job offer. I know that when the time is right, things will fall into place. But for right now, for me to be able to play even a small part in helping share the news about the new movies, that’s enough for me.

I, Clo, LOVE this homemade acai bowl that I made. It’s so simple and easy to make. Just get a bag of Sambazon from your local frozen section. Add 1 pack with half a banana, some strawberries, a few blueberries and some coconut milk, or your milk or choice. Blend, pour in bowl. Top with some of your favorite fruits. I use granola, bananas, strawberries and honey.
My little sister, Clo, has been wanting to try yoga. So yesterday when we went on a walk I shared her a few tips and taught her the basics. She loved it and now wants to get some yoga outfits and a mat. Yoga is great! Read my post about what I do yoga HERE.

I’m sure most of you heard about the unfortunate event of the Orlando shooting at a gay nightclub in Florida on Sunday. Latest word says 49 have been killed and over 50 injured, calling it one of the worst US massacres in history. This just makes me sick and I wish this stuff would stop happening. It’s come to a point that almost every, single year a mass shooting is happening. Many of those lost were very young and there were over 300 in the club when the shooting happened. The gunman has been identified as Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, 29, of Fort Pierce, Florida. He was a US citizen born in New York to parents from Afghanistan. Mateen called 911 during the attack to pledge allegiance to ISIS and mentioned the Boston Marathon bombers, according to an official. Orlando police shot and killed Mateen.
Ugh, man. This is devastating. My heart is so heavy and broken for the victim’s families right now. I don’t really have words….
This is the kind of thing that shuts America down. One man has brought our country to it’s knees, divided us with our religious and moral beliefs, and taken a piece of our souls. One man. Instead of focusing on the sad and negative aspects of this story, because I know there will be more to come in the news, I want to take a minute, give my respect to the victims and their families, and then work on making changes.
