Happy Monday, my beautiful friends! So I (Jeni)  just found this, and HAD to share with you guys.  It’s this dude, Matteo Stucchi in Italy that creates really yummy desserts – but adds humor to them!  He basically plays with his food, and makes scenes.  And omg they are so much fun!  You can see more of his work on his Instagram. He has new photos every Tuesday and Friday, so there’s always more to see 🙂

What fun Instagram accounts are you following now?

These Rainbow Trees are AMAZING!  I (Sarah) discovered  Eucalyptus deglupta trees. They are found in the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Hawaii.  So, apparently, the rainbow effect comes as the bark peels off through each season (like how a snack sheds its skin).  That fresh bark underneath is what you see, and as every layer of the bark matures, it turns cool shades of blue, purple, orange, and red!  It seriously looks like someone painted them. How cool is that?  Nature ROCKS!

What’s something magical you’ve seen recently?

This is one of those things that you always WANT to have, but never want to have to use.  It’s a amazing little emergency alarm – this generations “rape whistle,” that you can carry on your keychain. I (Jeni) just bought one for a young friend off to her first year of college. They are only about $16 – and you definitely want to check out this video on it – it’s pretty incredible!

This amazing Catalonia Wearable Blanket has places for your legs and arms…. keeping you SUPER cozy!  These are ridiculously awesome, aren’t they?  They come in lots of great colors, plus you can get them in a sherpa lining, too!  Even better-  they are under $25!

Score some ADORABLE Muk Luks Boots for just $19.99 + FREE shipping!!!  These come in sizes 6-11, in six different color styles!

This is so stinkin’ cute. This guy, Andrew Taylor, created a stick library for dogs.  Yah.  Basically, it’s a place in the park so that all of the local dogs could borrow a good stick to play with.  He actually trims trees at his house, then sands them down to make them good for the dogs.  How CUTE!  Read more.

Do you take your dog to a dog park?

Frozen is back in demand, that’s for sure!  The DVD & Blu Ray come out on February 25th – but if you can’t wait, you can get it NOW on Amazon Prime Video!  That makes for thousands of happy kids everywhere!

Are your kids (or you) Frozen fans?

I (Sarah)  love notebooks and am always filling them up part way and then abandoning them. I have half unfinished notebooks. That’s why I’m loving Rocketbook, it’s a notebook you write in and then microwave to wipe it clean and use it again!

Are you a note-taker?

Some things are just beyond understanding.  Like, this amazing sculpture. I (Jeni) am NOT an art lover… but this has me so fascinated! Artist Francesco Queirolo made The Release from Deception in the 18th century.  Uh…. they didn’t have the crazy tools we have today back then – and LOOK AT THE DETAIL! The netting itself is blowing me away! Read more

FUN!  This Bonsai tree-growing kit looks like a super easy way to start growing your own tree, but also a neat way to relax.  I (Sarah) have heard that caring for a Bonsai can be very calming and help with anxiety.  I need that, for sure!

What do you do to relax?

BBQ Chicken Sliders!!  How FUN!  When the weather is cold and snowy outside, it can feel like a summer BBQ inside 🙂

What’s your favorite cold weather meal?

  1. Again, love the memes, stealing the memes! Also, that food art above is fantastic, thanks for sharing. And yes, I cannot wait to own Frozen 2 so I can sing of key at home, Into the Unknown!

  2. Those desserts are the most creative things I’ve seen in a long time! It really looks like a little crew is working on them.

  3. I need a new litlle tree so those bonzais look perfect, Rainbow trees are not bad either so pretty and I never saw them around here.

They are only in Hawaii and specific other countries – hard to find!

  4. What cool desserts. I wish I had the patience to make cool things like that, but alas, I do not.

I’m making meatball sliders for dinner tomorrow!

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

OMG I wanna know what you thought of the meatball sliders!

  5. All I need to know is how you guys find these things! Do you just spend time all day looking for them? You find the most unique things!

HAHAHAAH!!!! We’re just resourceful, and always have our noses in fun stuff, girl!

  6. Your funnies always crack me up! I haven’t been here for awhile great to be back. Love the collection and those BBQ chicken sliders look AMAZING!

  7. I’m a total Rocketbook girl! I bought a few and haven’t looked back. I don’t have the microwaveable ones, just the ones you erase with a drop of water, but they’re awesome!!! I highly recommend!

Those dessert looks so good. I’ll have to save this and try that recipe. Thanks for sharing!

  8. OMG! Those desserts look so yummy and are such a clever idea… The dog stick library is so adorable too.

  9. My sister and I did some fun dioramas for one of her clients. I loved working on them. I’ll have to follow Matteo Stucchi on Instagram! The Stick Library is such a fun idea.

  10. Those trees are amazing! I wish I could grow them in my yard. I love “guy with sign” I recently started following him on Instagram.

  11. I’ve seen pictures of those rainbow trees. Have never been there to see them in person.

Those rainbow trees are pretty neat! I wish I had one in my yard.

  13. Oh wow! Those Rainbow Trees are really stunning! I can’t wait to see those. And that BBQ Chicken Sliders look soooo delicious.

  14. These are really great finds! I would love to try that BBQ chicken sliders! Look so good!

  15. I always find bonsai trees adorable. I want that kit and see if I’ll be able to keep it alive. I do have a green thumb but I haven’t tried caring for a bonsai tree before so we’ll see.

  16. The wearable blankets are so bizarre looking, but I can see myself ordering a half dozen of them. We put in an outdoor movie theater and even though it has an overhead heater, these would be perfect for staying cozy through the winter.

I like those wearable blankets. That would eliminate the tugging and fighting over the sheets. I’d also like that Bonsai Kit. I have been trying to grow one but haven’t had much success.

  18. Frozen II is our favorite movie right now! We’ve watched it at least once a day since it came out on digital – we just can’t get enough of it!

  19. Wow, those desserts. How absolutely amazing. Are the little people edible? The colorful trees are quite unusual as well. Great read and that Bonsai tree kit is something I’d like to own. Thanks for the tip, I see a birthday gift in the near future 🙂

  20. That blanket looks so cozy! I love indoor trees. I think I could use that bonsai grow kit.

  21. I’ve seen those rainbow trees on Instagram and on some days when I’m bored, I go through the Instagram feed and amuse myself with all the cute and funny photos and posts there. 🙂

  22. I love the Stick Library! That would make a great Christmas present.
