I (Sarah) LOVE LOVE LOVE Nightmare Before Christmas.  And I know I’m not the only one out there!  🙂 I live in California, but now I think I need to make my way down to Austin, Texas (with a stop in Dallas to visit Jeni!) on December 20th.  The Nightmare Before Christmas festival launches then, and I NEED to be there! There will be live performers, photo opps, sing-alongs, specialty cocktails and more.  YAY!!

Get more info and tickets HERE.

What fun festivals do you attend throughout the year?

There are a ton of really neat words in other languages that we don’t have in English.  Weird, right?  You would just assume that every word in one language, exists in another… wouldn’t you?  This article shows some really neat words from other languages that don’t exist in the US.  Here are some of my (Jeni) favorites:

  • Kummerspeck – German – translates to “grief bacon,” refers to weight gained due to excessive eating that stems from being sad.
  • Mencolek – Indonesian-  that thing some people do in which they tap someone on the opposite shoulder to get them to look in the wrong direction.
  • Pana po’o – Hawaiian – refers to when you scratch your head to help you remember something you’ve forgotten.
  • Pena ajena – Spanish (and fremdschämen in German) –  means “to be embarrassed for someone.”
  • Gigil – Tagalog –  basically refers to a situation of such extreme cuteness it’s overwhelming, or the irresistible urge to hug something cute.

Have you ever heard of any of these words?

Bacon and eggs earrings!!  HA!  These are too awesome!  And they are just $13, too!

Buy one, get TWO free!  It’s a huge boot sale at JCPenney.com!  The most expensive pair will be the one you pay for, but the other two pairs will be free!!  There are TONS of styles, including boots for kids.  Women’s boots start at $60 – so you’ll basically get three pairs of boots for $60 (if all three are regularly $60), which is just $20 per pair!

Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies are 100% in line with that holiday vibe. A big plate of Milanos can be better than a fresh baked batch of cookies. We CAN BE – calm down. So this year, Pepperidge Farm is giving us an early Christmas present! Two brand new flavors just hit their lineup, and they are exclusive to Target stores. The coffee-inspired cookies are Irish Cream and Caramel Macchiato… and yes, they really are exactly as they sound. The Irish cream offers that creamy, tart kick perfectly. The aftertaste on these is awesome, too! And the Caramel Macchiato …sweet, sweet caramel with a hint of espresso in there. The flavors are spot on, and we will definitely be stuffing our own stockings with them this year! ???? Which flavor are you most excited to try?

Have you seen the new Pepperidge Farm Milano flavors?  Holy moly they are GOOD! I reviewed them on my Snack Gator Instagram, which you should read….but to give you a hint – they are AMAZING! Be sure to grab some at Target, where they are exclusively sold!

What new goodies have you spotted lately?

We have all used travel pillows.  That’s for sure. But this one makes the ordinary travel pillow look like a CHUMP!  This twistable, memory-foam travel pillow can be shaped into whatever form you need to be the most comfy!

What do you use when you travel?

Remember The Muppet Christmas Carol movie?  It’s from 1992, and boy, was it popular!  Well, now it’s been made into a kids children’s book!  Check it out HERE and be sure to look at some of the pages – because there’s a LOT going on in this book!

What’s your favorite Christmas book?

Ok, now this is too cool.  I (Jeni) always have trouble thinking of clever gifts to give my teenaged niece.  She’s super crafty and clever… and these little DIY Mini Scenes are PERFECT!  There are several scenes:  studio, flower house, and study.  Aren’t they so cute!?  They scale at 1:24.

What do you gift teens?

Last night, my (Sarah) boyfriend and I went to a friend’s house for dinner. She served fried chicken with this weird, hot honey stuff on it.  Turns out, it’s called Mike’s Hot Honey and it’s absolutely AMAZING!  I want it for pizza and breadsticks and maybe even to drizzle on my salads!  Seriously – this stuff offers the sweet and heat you expect, with a special kick.  Check it out!

Have you tried anything lately?

Seriously, guys.  This is THE BEST soup EVER.  I (Jeni) spent years perfecting this recipe – trying new things and adding a little of this, reducing a little of that….and BAM. The perfect bacon cheeseburger soup.  It’s absolutely amazing and I’m so excited to share it with you, and make it tonight for dinner!!  It literally tastes like a bacon cheeseburger – but in soup form.  Crazy, right?

What’s your favorite homemade soup?
