Now….refill that coffee and let’s get to chatting with our Morning Coffee!
Good morning! As most of you that have been with us for a while know, I (Jeni) collect vintage 80s Strawberry Shortcake. My collection is coming along and so much fun – I absolutely adore it! As I search for great deals and find new items I didn’t know about, I follow a lot of Instagram and Facebook pages. Recently, I discovered something I had never seen before – custom Strawberry Shortcake! There are even Facebook groups dedicated to them. They give them adorable names and stick with the food/sweets theme, too.
These are the original, vintage dolls, but they are transformed into something new and creative! This one website, Plum’s Place (after Plum Puddin’) has some amazing photos of her dolls she’s created.
Aren’t they so much fun!? I love it! I don’t the think I’d ever get custom dolls for myself, because I really like the vintage, originals – but they are sure awesome to see!
Do you collect anything fun?
You all know how big of a Disney fan I (Sarah) am already. So you’ll also understand how cool I think this is: this graphic designer named Matthew Burt, decided that the Disney princesses needed modern day careers, based on their characters. “I wanted to create something that others might look up to,” he continued. “It’s important to show the princesses as strong women because of that influential role they have in society. Everyone should have something that inspires them — especially girls who may want to pursue a career in a traditionally male-dominated field.”
It’s a Taco Coloring Book. Need we say more? Oh, and it’s just $8.99.
These Cookie Scoops can be used for SO many things in the kitchen! This 3-pack is currently just $17.99. Use as cookie scoop, measuring equal amounts for your cupcakes, as a melon baller and a ton of other great uses. These are a MUST HAVE!
Speaking of custom made stuff…. these custom KitchenAid mixers are pretty amazing! This artist, Nicole Dinardo, creates the most amazing artwork, just for your mixer! She does nature, crazy stuff, pinup girls and much more!
How would you want your KitchenAid designed?
These wildlife photos seriously made my (Sarah) day! I LOVE animals of all kinds, and these really are too funny and unique! Check out all of them (there are 50!) HERE!
Mickey & Minnie Salt & Pepper Shakers. I (Sarah) NEED THESE! They would definitely go with my Disney-themed kitchen, plus, who doesn’t love these two little mice!?
Does your kitchen have a theme?
Check this out. It’s a rare Blue Java Banana. It has the health benefits of broccoli, but tastes like vanilla ice cream. COOL! I (Jeni) hate eating bananas (the texture grosses me out) but I would NOT mind eating these all day! Too bad they are rare. You can read more about them HERE!
What’s the strangest fruit you’ve ever eaten?
Have you ever wished you could have one of those awesomely addicting and fun (but frustrating) claw machines at home? You totally can, for about $50! Seriously, this is too cool and pretty unique. I (Sarah) have had one in my house for years, and love playing with it. I think a family with kids would really enjoy having one! Plus, it’s pretty unique, isn’t it!?
Does your family have anything unique like this?
Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice? Yes, please! I (Sarah) will be making this for dinner tonight and can’t wait! Is it dinner time yet??
What’s on the menu for you tonight?
Don’t forget to join us every Wednesday evening at 4pm EST for Happy Hour!

I have my daughter’s strawberry shortcake doll tucked away somewhere in the attic. That doll is old. It’s the one that blows strawberry kisses when you press her tummy. The last time I checked, you could still smell the strawberry scent!
Oh my gosh blue Java bananas! I don’t know where to find those but I definitely need to try them. Anything that taste like vanilla, but gives me the vitamins and the broccoli I am a happy camper!
Ooo I’d love to try a blue java banana. They are pretty!
My daughter has that claw machine! It doesn’t work the greatest though. It’s hard to grip onto something. I guess much like the “real” ones in stores.
I had to laugh hard when I saw the little girls hair!! I don’t have much hair, but it looks like that in the morning. Makes me wonder what I do all night long. LOL
I love the Cookie Scoops! I use them all the time, and mostly for cookie dough. It’s nice to have them roughly the same size because they bake evenly. xx
I love this new line of disney princesses with professional careers. That whole industry has really come a long way in creating better, more meaningful impressions on young girls.
It’s really cool what the artist at Plum’s Palace was able to do with the dolls. The Disney princess designs are awesome too!
You’ve taken me back to my childhood with the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I had a doll and a watch given to me by my Grandma.
I just had to eat a banana after learning about the rare Java Bananas. Man, I also ate broccoli for lunch but would much better prefer this type of dreamy fruit.
I need a set of cookie scoops as it would make life easier. Last year I used my ice cream scoop to make portions for my cookies. It worked but the cookie scoop would be so much easier.
I have those exact cookie scoops! I use them for baking all the time! I love them.
wow, the strawberry shortcake dolls are just adorable!! The mixers look amazing!
Those custom Kitchenaid mixers are so cool. I love mine but I would love it even more if it were decorated!
I just spoke to someone today about KitchenAid Mixers. I have to make sure that I mention that they can actually get a customized one.
This post gave me
A good chuckle! That photo of the kid with the messy hair is the best!
I agree…tacos is absolutely not cheating on my diet.
HAHAH!
I wish I would have kept my Strawberry Shortcake dolls from when I was young. Right now I am into dragons. I am just starting my collection. It all started with a metal dragon bookmark.
That’s cool!! Dragons are really neat!
Those Strawberry Shortcake dolls are awesome! And the Blue Java Bananas look interesting. The claw machine looks fun
YAY FOR ALL OF IT!
hahaha I won’t cheat on my tacos! I love the different Strawberry Shortcake dolls! I am in love with the Star Wars one!
HAHA AWESOMENESS!
I love those Disney princess graphics! I tried to guess what some of their careers might be, and much to my delight, I got some of them right.
HAHA! NICE!
I am a texture eater too and bananas gross me out. Things like oatmeal or soggy shit no way! I’m a crunchy eater and prefer cold foods to hot. It’s weird the little things that make people different or similar!
I love your weird things, girl!!!
That reminds me of one of my favorite Thai dishes, pineapple fried rice. Would love to try this at home!
Mmmmmmm YUM!
I love the scoops. The large one is the perfect amount for cupcakes so that they have the best crown.
Those Minnie and Mickey shakers are adorable. Excited to see the Disney princesses with careers.
I have to get those cookie scoops! They’re so versatile. Seeing those Strawberry Shortcake dolls reminds me so much of my little sister.
