Happy Friday!  Since it’s Friday, I (Sarah) want to be in my happy place…which is obviously the happiest place on Earth.  DISNEY!  Since I can’t be there, I thought I’d share some fun stuff that I stumbled upon this week.  It’s a list of 15 fun facts about Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World from PopSugar!  Read it in its entirety HERE.  Here’s the breakdown from PopSugar:

  1. There’s a luxurious suite inside. The castle has an ultra-exclusive suit inside that overlooks the Magic Kingdom.
  2. There’s a princess boutique inside. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a beauty salon inside the castle where kids are turned into princesses and knights by their Fairy Godmothers.
  3. It looks bigger than it really is. Disney Imagineers used forced perspective on Cinderella’s castle to make it look larger than it really is.
  4. You can get married in front of the castle. There are lots of places in Walt Disney World where diehard Disney fans can get married through Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.
  5. There’s a top-notch restaurant inside. The castle houses Cinderella’s Royal Table, a fine-dining restaurant that also involves a character dining experience.
  6. It’s actually not the tallest structure at Walt Disney World. You might think the castle is the tallest icon at all the parks, but that title actually belongs to Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom and Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  7. Only one other Disney castle looks like it. Despite the fact that there are six Disney parks around the world, there’s only one other Cinderella’s castle outside of Walt Disney World, and that’s Cinderella castle’s at Tokyo Disneyland.
  8. It’s inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. The historic Neuschwanstein Castle is located in Bavaria, Germany, and features a white limestone facade and blue turrets, so it’s rumored to be the inspiration for Cinderella’s castle.
  9. It’s extra magical during the holidays. Cinderella’s castle is beautiful all year, but it’s especially breathtaking during the holidays.
  10. It’s not the tallest Disney castle. It’s the second tallest! The first is the Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disney Resort, which is the largest Disney castle at 197 feet tall.
  11. It gets kissed goodnight. About 30 minutes after the park closes, the castle gets a “kiss goodnight.” It consists of a recording of Roy Disney’s dedication speech of the Magic Kingdom accompanied by special lighting effects and ends with “When You Wish Upon a Star” followed by the castle going dark.
  12. Tinker Bell flies around the castle nightly. As part of a nightly fireworks show, Tinker Bell flies (aka zip lines) out of the castle.
  13. There’s a reason for its specific height. The castle clocks in at 189 feet. Why not 190 feet? Because any structure 190 feet or more would have to have a flashing red aircraft beacon on top of it, which would look less than magical.
  14. The castle pays homage to Disney “royalty.” There are more than 40 coats of arms on display inside Cinderella’s Royal Table, each referring to someone who has played a significant role in the heritage and history of the Walt Disney Company.
  15. It’s a lot bigger than its counterpart in Disneyland. Cinderella’s castle is more than 100 feet taller than Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Disneyland in California.

What’s your favorite thing about Disneyland or Disney World?

Speaking of CASTLES…. I (Jeni) just found out some fun news about a castle not too far from Dallas (where I live)!  If you don’t already know, I absolutely love two animals – sloths and alpacas.  This castle, called, “ShangriLlama” has llamas living there with the family… they aren’t alpaca, but they are close enough for me!  What’s the difference?  I actually talked about that on Morning Coffee last year (and it’s fascinating!).

Back to the castle!  So, you can visit the castle (people actually live there, by the way), and host parties there, go to classes about llamas, go on nature walks… with the llamas!  You get to WALK the llamas in nature, like dogs!  There are 7 of them, and the walk is 2.5 hours through some beautiful country.  Sounds like heaven to me!  I’m requesting this adventure for my birthday this year 🙂

Read about ShangriLlama HERE!

What fun animals would you like to get up close and personal with?

Ever have great ideas in the shower?  Yah, a lot of people do.  That’s why I (Jeni) just scored myself this Aqua Notes notepad!  It’s waterproof, and even comes with a pencil for only $9.50!

Ultra Soft Print Leggings are just $8.99 each ($3.99 shipping for 1st item and $2.99 each additional)!  There are TONS of styles and 2 sizes (regular and plus)!  SO CUTE!

I (Sarah) am currently obsessed with the Disney Princess Style Series dolls. They feature more sophisticated, runway style type outfit for each of the princesses. I love their outfits so much! They each come with a purse. Get them in Belle, Ariel, and Mulan on Amazon!
Which Disney Princess is your favorite?
I (Sarah) live in California, a.k.a. land of avocados. Tostitos is coming out with a new avocado flavored salsa with real avocados. It was supposed to hit stores in January 2020, but I’ve yet to see it in my area. Have you seen it where you live?
What food is your state known for?
Have you ever tried to do what a barista does?  That coffee art on a latte is HARD!  But this little kit will help you out.  It comes with 16 Coffee Art Stencils… so you can create pretty coffee 🙂  Just put the stencil over the top of the cup, shake on cocoa, cinnamon or other yumminess, and voila!
Are you an artsy person?
Are you a big Chip and Joanna Gaines fan?  I (Jeni) honestly don’t really know who they are – decorators or something on HGTV??  I probably sound stupid.  Anyway, I know a LOT of people that LOVE them, so I had to share this news-  they are starting their own TV network called, “Magnolia,” in October of 2020!  That’s probably pretty exciting to a lot of people!! 🙂  Read the details HERE.
Are you a big HGTV fan? Will you watch the new network?

For the other die-hard Disney fans out there besides me (Sarah) – this Mrs. Potts and Chip Lip Balm Set is for you! They smell like grape and strawberry, and would definitely be cuter than the classic chapstick in your purse.

What’s your go-to flavor lip balm?

I just love these posts! I haven’t seen the Tostitos Avocado Salsa but I searched and it said they sell it at Walmart (I never shop in their store) and they also sell it at Food Lion which is where we normally buy our groceries so I will be looking this weekend!

  2. Oh my goodness! I love that coffee art! I would love to try this on my coffee every morning because I am really addicted to coffee and those coffee arts give attention.

  3. The Disney castle is awesome and worth the trip and the lines. I have got to get one of those sundae cookies. We all love avocados so we have to try that salsa.

I always love the memes you post in the morning coffee. They really brighten my day. I’d like to have one of those cookies too. 🙂

  5. Hey Sarah and Jeni! Love love love your site and content. I never knew all of that about the Disney Castle. I’ve never been to Disneyland :(. I have been to EuroDisney though. I like the idea that the castle gets a good night kiss every night. I’d like to be a Castle.

    Beth x

  6. Heck yes, I am so going to get avocado salsa. I tend to love all things with avocado.

I wish I were more of an artsy person but alas, I can’t even draw stick people properly.

  7. It’s a dream of mine to spend the night in Cinderella’s Castle! I am going to Germany this summer though, so I’ll have to look up the castle it is based upon while there.

Those coffee stencils are a great idea. I priced the machine that does them not to long ago and they aren’t cheap! This is a much more affordable option!

  8. I love alpacas too, my gram has had a few on her farm. They are the sweetest animals! I do need something in the shower to jot down my notes, seriously. My writing and creative mind are always pumped in the shower, but by the time I’m done everyone in the house has asked a bunch of questions so I forget it all.

  9. I’ve still never been to Disney before. I think that castle would be so amazing to see though. I really do hope to go someday and bring my kids too.

  10. A friend won a night’s stay in the Cinderella castle at the Disney Social Media Moms conference previously and she shared her experience online. So amazing!

  11. What a fun bunch of stuff here! I’m a big Disney fan and love castles so I liked learning about all those insider tips. And llamas are the best! Thanks for the smiles.

  12. This info on Cinderella’s castle is so interesting! I have never been to Disney so this was all new to me. I had no idea they have a restaurant inside.

  13. The shower is the only place where I can’t bring my phone and I can’t work. I refuse to bring in anything that takes that “me time” away.

  14. I haven’t been to Disney World but I really want to go. I would love to see Cinderella’s castle up close.

  15. Thank you for all you amazing ideas! I always find something new and interesting!

  16. I love the coffee stencils! What a brilliant way to up your game when making hot drinks! I totally want to use it to sprinkle cocoa on my hot chocolate!

  17. I’m a fan of Fixer Upper and still watching the reruns so I’m really looking forward to watching their network. Also , I haven’t seen the avocado salsa yet. Thanks for the heads up. Can’t wait to try it.

Disney really knows what they’re doing when it comes to treating a guest. Would love to go there again sometime.

  21. I’m pretty sure that Neuschwanstein Castle was also featured in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I’ll have to check out Magnolia in the fall.

  22. There were a bunch of things I didn’t know about Disney’s castle, and I’m a die hard Disney fan! I love the sound of ShangriLlama, and I visit Dallas a lot, so I’ll be putting that on my to do list for sure.

  23. As an avocado fan, I’m all about that salsa! Really love the idea of the shower note pad. I immediately have two people in mind that I can give that to as a gift 🙂 Fun read, especially the bar in the shower 🙂
