It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to brush off the stress, negativity and blah of your week.  Enjoy some mid-week mixers with us without leaving the comfort of your home.  Uncork your favorite wine, pop open a beer, mix your favorite cocktail…. and unwind with us this evening.  And, if you’re feeling extra perky in the mornings, or need some help getting a jump on your day, join us for Morning Coffee weekday mornings, too!

Yummy treats and random chit-chat starts our Happy Hour together!

These look SO GOOD! Check out these Maple-Glazed Sausage Pops!  They have lemon, maple syrup, dill, chives and more in them… aren’t these the perfect appetizer for Happy Hour AND for any parties you host!?  YUM!

What are your favorite treats to serve at parties?

It’s finally here! We heard about The Flintstones LEGO set coming out soon and it’s finally here!  Get it at the LEGO store, Walmart, Target and Amazon.  It looks absolutely amazing and has so many fun components to it.

Are you a LEGO collector?

Raspberry Shortcake Cupcakes

These Raspberry Shortcake Cupcakes really are as good as they look.  They have raspberry jam inside of the super light white cupcake, and are topped with a homemade raspberry frosting.  Oh yah…. if you love raspberries or cupcakes in general, you’ll wanna make these!

If you make cupcakes, what flavors do you use?

Have you ever heard of Budsies?  This is a pretty brilliant idea.  Artists take your child’s artwork, and create 3D stuffed animals out of them!  If they draw a train, they’ll get a train they can hug.  If it’s self portrait, they’ll have a little doll of themself that they designed!  It’s so cute and sweet! Plus, I have friends that have used Budsies before and the quality is amazing.  This is a great way to preserve your kids’ artwork, send special gifts to family, and make something you can keep forever!

What would you use Budsies for?

Well, well, well, would ya look at THAT little goody!  Be on the lookout for this brand new S’mores Creamer from International Delight! It’s a fun, summer flavor that I (Jeni) really hope doesn’t end up just tasting like chocolate.  They better get that marshmallow AND graham flavoring in there! 🙂

What’s your favorite flavor of coffee creamer?

This Artisan Amazon shop is awesome! It’s called FakeFoodUSA and they make tiny fake food earrings. There are pecans, ice creams, donuts, hot dogs, breads, pizza… it’s pretty hilarious and fun! I (Jeni) found a few I would love myself, and some for gifts to my sister, too.

Do you wear silly jewelry?

Check out this fun giveaway we have going on right now!  Enter to win this 4-pack of really cute and fun games that include the entire family (even the super littles!).  I absolutely love all of these items, honestly, and would have really loved them as a kid!  Enter now!

What’s your favorite family game night game?

Try a fun, new adult beverage this week, or save the recipes for parties with friends!

Tonight I (Sarah) am sipping on a Fruit Punch Wine Slushie that is super easy to make and the perfect spring or summer beverage. It’s made with red wine, frozen fruit punch, and ice cubes. This slushie seriously takes slushies to a whole new level!

Tonight, it’s Henry’s Hard Orange Soda for me (Jeni)!  This is really refreshing, especially when it’s REALLY cold.  It’s super sugary, but awesome.  It reminds me of drinking Orange Crush after Little League games when I was a kid 🙂

What are you sipping on with us tonight?

What’s Happy Hour without getting all that negativity out of your system? Get it out and let it go!

Yah, I (Jeni) have a bitch and moan for the week.  OMG you guys, I’m so upset!  It’s a stupid upset…vanity upset.  But still, I’m gonna bitch about it and then I’ll let it go. I got my hair trimmed yesterday.  Actually, he HACKED it.  I ASKED for “just a trim” and told him it had been 3 months so I was just coming in for my regular little trim. Here was the frustrating conversation that should have been a huge red flag:

Me: “Just a trim, it’s been three months and I come in every few months to just trim it and keep it healthy.”
Him: “Ok, so a few inches?”
Me: “Oh!  No, no, I don’t want to lose the length – literally just a trim like I always get every few months.  That’s it.  Quick and boring.”  *nervous smile*
Him: “Ok, so does an inch sound good?”
Me: “Wow – does it NEED an inch off?”
Him:  “We’ll see. Do you want layers?”
Me: “Nope.  Quick and boring trim is all I want.”
Him: “How ’bout bangs? You want bangs?”
Me: “I literally just want a trim and that’s it.  Like, snip snip quick and easy just to clean up the ends and keep it healthy.”

He ended up cutting about 2 inches.

I know, it’s not the end of the world. It’s only hair. It’ll grow.  My hair is still “longish.” But it isn’t what I wanted or expected, so I am really frustrated. Like I said, vanity.  But whatever.

Have you ever had a bad haircut?

I (Sarah) have Fibromyalgia and literally the only time my feet are comfortable is when I wear sandals with socks. I wear them all the time and it’s the only thing that makes walking a little less painful. Last night, I had my sandals with socks on when we went to the store, and a lady behind me was snickering and making rude comments to her daughter, who was a tween, about me wearing socks with sandals.

After three minutes of this, I was livid and trying to keep my cool, and it was annoying me beyond belief because she has no idea what my day to day life is like. I finally turned around and said the only thing I could think of which was “I’ll pray for you” to which she immaturely stuck her tongue out at me, like we were in grade school or something.

I live in California and there are people who wear flip flops with socks, and heck people that shop at Walmart with bare feet, so I don’t think socks with sandals is that big of a deal. So yes world, I wear socks with sandals and here’s the picture to prove it. This morning I can laugh about it, but last night I was livid.

Have you ever been shamed for your clothes or shoes choices?

Your drink should be kicking in by now, so let’s have some giggles together!

Ok, friends, it’s time to shut down Happy Hour and get back to reality! But first, grab that last bargain drink, and check out some limited time deals and treat yourself this week to something special! You deserve it!

Treat  yo self! 🙂

Whaaaa? Natural Stone Extendable Phone Grips for only $9.99!  There are different colors AND sizes.

How cool is this? It makes literal BALLS of ICE!  Get a 2-pack for just $12.

Disney Villainous game – I (Jeni) just got it last week and must admit, it’s RIDICULOUSLY fun and different!!  Plus, it’s on sale for cheaper than I got mine – just $24.99!

Have a great rest of your week!  See you tomorrow for Morning Coffee!

The sausage pops look so good – but those cupcakes have my heart lol. We have quite a lego collection here due to my son – we build them together a lot and keep them as is in a room in our home!

  22. The wine slushie is up my alley. I would totally be making this for the summer!
