It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to brush off the stress, negativity and blah of your week.  Enjoy some mid-week mixers with us without leaving the comfort of your home.  Uncork your favorite wine, pop open a beer, mix your favorite cocktail…. and unwind with us this evening.  And, if you’re feeling extra perky in the mornings, or need some help getting a jump on your day, join us for Morning Coffee weekday mornings, too!

Yummy treats and random chit-chat starts our Happy Hour together!

Let’s start Happy Hour off with some fun Beer-Battered Fried Mushrooms!  I (Sarah) don’t like mushrooms…but I love fried veggies, so I’m going to give them a try. Everything is better with beer batter, right? They don’t take many ingredients (you probably already have them!), so this should be fun!

What’s your favorite fried food?

Salted Caramel Pecan Bars.  Need I (Jeni) really say more?  Probably not, but I will – these are AMAZING!

Bars, cookies, or cupcakes – which do you like more?

If you love dogs, you will freak out over this hilariously adorable post! Stop over HERE to check out 15 groomed dogs… that probably don’t really enjoy the primping they got!

Do you get your dog groomed?

Get back to the basics and feel that wonderful nostalgia of playing with paper dolls!  These are BRILLIANTLY created, and totally FREE! This guy has some serious talent, that’s for sure! Head over to his Facebook page to see everything has created!

Do you remember playing with paper dolls?

SOLD! I (Sarah) don’t need details. I just want these.  😉  This is a 6-pack of Popbar Chocolate Sticks.  And I’m in love. Dip them into your coffee or cocoa (or tea, if you wanna be weird, I guess) and it sweetens it up! Plus, melty chocolate on a stick.  That’s all I needed to say.

Do you add anything to your cocoa?

When did this llama craze happen?  All of a sudden, it’s “no prob-llama” and “llamaste” and “llama drama” everywhere!  But dangit, they are so stinking cute!  I (Jeni) am more of an alpaca fan…but llamas are close enough! Check out these awesome llama gift ideas for the llama lover in your life!

What’s your favorite weird animal?

Well, well, well.  For the gal that hates flowers, and doesn’t want romantic candy on Valentine’s Day – this should do the trick!  PICKLE BOUQUETS!!! And this pickle company even offered helpful instructions on making your own pickle bouquet, too! It’s a pretty cool little trend, that’s for sure!

What is your perfect V-day gift?

These bunny slippers are pretty legit.  Plus, they are made of plushy sherpa fleece.  It’s like a pillow for each of your feet-  a bunny shaped pillow!!

Do you wear any fun slippers?

Try a fun, new adult beverage this week, or save the recipes for parties with friends!

I (Sarah) have been all about the sparkling alcoholic beverage trend that’s been going on.  Correction…it’s been EXPLODING!  So this one really stands out to me -Sercy Spiked & Sparkling. Why? It’s all organic ingredients and has zero sugar, AND it’s gluten free. But what really caught my eye was the flavors: Orange Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Cucumber Lime, and Peach Lychee. YUM!

What sparkling drinks are you enjoying lately?

This drink reminds me (Jeni) of a cozy winter morning! It’s the French Toast Drink. It’s either a shot or drink – which is pretty awesome.  Plus, even more awesome is the recipe.  It’s equal parts Baileys, Cinnamon Schnapps, and =Butterscotch Schnapps.  Yep – it’s THAT easy and apparently, really does taste like french toast!  Get the recipe and other info HERE.

What’s Happy Hour without getting all that negativity out of your system? Get it out and let it go!

It used to be the cable war… then the internet service war.  Then the cable/internet bundle war.  And now… the streaming service war.  UGH!  It used to just be Netflix and Amazon.  Then Hulu and others came along.  And then Apple TV and Disney Plus, Peacock (NBC’s service launching this year), and HBO MAX (this year, as well). Oh, but that’s not all. There are and will be more.

And what really sucks is that networks are pulling their popular shows from the main services like Hulu and Netflix – like Friends and The Office.  UGH!  So it’ll be like we have to sign up for and pay for an average of 5 services every month.  It’s so irritating!  I get it – it’s business, and companies want their piece of the pie. But dang, it sucks for us.

See a complete list (as of November 2019) of all of the streaming services, and how to know which to subscribe to.

JENI:  I (Jeni) seriously love winter.  I love the snow, the freezing air, the starry nights… I love winter!  But MAN the negativity is overwhelming!  EVERY time I say that I love winter, I hear, “yah, but wait til you have to live in -10 degree weather.”  or “Yah, right, until you have to shovel the snow.”  But guess what – I DID live in ridiculously cold weather (-27 F was the lowest it got) and I volunteered to shovel my neighbors snow every single day. When I say I love it, I MEAN that I love it.

It irritates me that I can’t just love winter, without hearing some negative comments.  How about just saying, “That’s awesome!  I’m more of a summer person, but I get it!” It’s the same with Christmas.  EVERY time I post about my excitement for the holidays, and it’s not in December, I get negative comments.  It’s obnoxious.

Just let us cold weather, winter loving weirdos have our simple joys, please!  And PS – HERE are some AMAZING pictures to check out to prove that winter is awesome!

Are you a cold weather person, too? (If you’re not, PLEASE don’t prove my point here and be negative!)

Your drink should be kicking in by now, so let’s have some giggles together!

Ok, friends, it’s time to shut down Happy Hour and get back to reality! But first, grab that last bargain drink, and check out some limited time deals and treat yourself this week to something special! You deserve it!
