Fried Apple Pies Recipe!

What’s better than a fresh apple pie on a cold Winter day?  How about individual fried apple pies?!  These are ridiculously easy to make, and SO yummy!  It’s also a great way to use up leftover wonton or egg roll wrappers that you have (maybe after making Fort Worth Egg Rolls?).  We add white chocolate chips for an added kick to these fun desserts.
Dip these in the frosting from our Funnel Cake Cupcakes for an even better, sweeter treat!  Get the recipe HERE.

Recipe depends on how many you decide to make.  This recipe will make 5 Fried Apple Pies.

2 small-medium green apples
1 – 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
white chocolate chips
5 egg roll wrappers
oil for frying
powdered sugar for dusting
Place oil in skillet (enough to cover the pies), and turn on medium-high.  Once water sizzles when dripped into oil, turn down to medium.  Skin and dice up apples.  Place in bowl with brown sugar and cinnamon.  Mix up until apples are coated.  Don’t worry – you won’t need any liquid, and it may appear dry at first.  Lay out egg roll wrappers and place about a tablespoon of apple mixture in the middle.  Place a few white chocolate chips on top of apples.  Fold wrapper over, corner to corner to create a triangle.  Use a fork to press down edges.  Fry in oil, turning frequently, until pies are a golden brown.  Remove from oil, drain and pat on paper towel, then dust with powdered sugar.  Best eaten when warm, and dipped in the Funnel Cake Cupcakes frosting.  Enjoy!!!
