’tis the season for everything PEPPERMINT! This recipe is thanks to my big sister who found some yummy candy cane marshmallows and wondered, “what if we combined these fun peppermint marshmallows with popcorn?!” We did, and they are AH-MAZ-ING! These are SUPER simple, and fun to make. Enjoy!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 bag microwave popcorn
- 2 bags (3.5oz each) peppermint twist marshmallows (or the equivalent of 7 oz any peppermint marshmallows – I got mine from Dollar Tree. Find options on Amazon
- 3 T butter
- crushed candy canes
LET’S MAKE THEM:
Pop your popcorn, then lay it out on a baking dish. Shake out or pick out all of the unpopped kernels.
In a medium pot, melt butter over medium heat.
Add marshmallows, and stir continuously until melted through.
Remove from heat and let cool about 2 minutes.
Pour over popcorn evenly and immediately begin to form balls with your hands. I recommend spraying some oil or baking spray on your hands to make it easier to work with.
Sprinkle crushed candy cane around the balls and let set in Christmas cupcake liners.
ENJOY!
