I (Jeni) am always really late to the game when it comes to popular TV shows.  I saw Sons of Anarchy long after the entire series finished.  I watched Game of Thrones during that final year between the last season. I’m just now getting caught up with The Walking Dead. So it should be no surprise that I just binged both seasons of You.

Here were my thoughts – I love the concept, but after about the middle of the first season, I felt like it was starting to get a little bit boring. Oddly enough, that’s when my sister said it started getting really good!   Season 2 wasn’t what I expected, and I loved the twists, but I found that I was watching more just to see what happened – not because I was so excited for the next episode.

I’m looking forward to season 3 next year, but by then I’m afraid any enthusiasm I felt might be totally gone! I don’t know… should I watch again?  I’m dying to hear what you guys think about it!

Did you watch You?  What are your thoughts?

I (Sarah) had a Big Wheel as a child which I loved and rode all the time. Mine was from some sort of toothpaste promotion and I remember my grandma asking at the bank where she worked for others to help her save for it. I was clueless at the time that I was riding a giant tube of toothpaste, looking back now, it’s pretty awesome and people are always looking for them on E-bay. These pictures are from 1983 of me on my toothpaste Big Wheel.

I recently saw this amazing Big Wheel for adults. I totally want one of these! It’s much more grown up then my toothpaste Big Wheel was, this one has brakes, ribbons on the handlebars and can accommodate adults up to 300 pounds! Unfortunately it’s way out of my price range $699.99 but it looks awesome! I think this company is genius for re-creating a classic toy for adults.

Did you have a Big Wheel as a child? Would you want the adult version?

These adorable shoes are BACK!  I (Jeni) just scored an orange pair – because everyone needs orange tennis shoes, right?  They are only $25.99 + free shipping, plus they come in tons of colors and sizes!

Just $14.50 for this seriously cute apron!  It’s extra long and has 2 pockets and will make you look absolutely precious while you cook and bake 🙂

If you watch HGTV, you’re familiar with home makeovers.  But what about an entire TOWN?  HGTV is looking for a US town to get a total makeover. It’ll be a brand new show called, “Home Town.”  Here are the requirements:

  • The township must have a population of fewer than 40,000 residents.
  • The town should contain buildings with outstanding architecture that would benefit from revitalization.
  • The location ought to include a Main Street area that is in desperate need of a makeover.

Think your town has what it takes?  Read more and apply HERE!

Could your town use a  makeover?

These awesome beanies are definitely made for women with ponytails!  You can keep your head cozy in the cold, plus rock your cute pony at the same time!  AND it won’t screw up your do… or give you hat head!  Love these beanies! They come in 2-packs with tons of designs (2 designs per pack) for under $25, too.

What winter looks are you rocking this year?

These Disney Princess hot dogs are so hilarious!  I (Sarah) am laughing so hard! The guy that posted them on Facebook didn’t know who to credit, so I don’t know, either.  I think Ariel is my favorite! Who thinks of this stuff…. I mean really?

What fun and unique things have you seen on Facebook lately?

I (Jeni) don’t eat much bread anymore….which makes me want these awesome bread slippers even more!  There are a few types (Brown Sugar Bread, French Bread, French Baguette, and a few others) but this pictured one is my favorite!!!  I just wanna cuddle with them  🙂

Do you have any cozy slippers you’re loving right now?

Seriously – how cute is this vampire garlic mincer??  I (Sarah) needed one and I stumbled upon this adorable vampire on Amazon. I think he will sit permanently on my counter, because he’s so cute!  Plus, it helps me not have to handle garlic as much (sticky fingers are not fun!).

What unique kitchen items do you have right now?

It’s that time of year – where baking makes the most sense, and the warmth of the oven seems to cozy up your house.  I (Jeni) created this banana bread, using one of my favorite flavor combinations – peanut butter and bacon!  It’s a sweet, salty, warm, and absolutely delicious bread that’s super unique!

What’s your favorite thing to bake in the winter?

I keep hearing about You but haven’t seen it yet. I am also late to popular shows. Maybe I’ll check it out soon.

  4. I tried to watch You and got a couple of episodes in and just gave up I couldn’t get into it at all. However I do want to try those bread slippers.

  5. There are NOT a lot of things I’d drop $700 that don’t serve a purpose. That Big Wheel is NOT one of them. I NEED it!

  6. I was late to the You game too. I just finished both seasons last week and was impressed with the last 2 episodes of season 2. I think at times it was very slow but overall good.

  7. I just started watching You not that long ago. I think I’m maybe just on the third or fourth episode. It’s definitely crazy so far.

  8. Big Wheels and Beanies = Awesome! I loved having Big Wheels as a kid, and I scored a couple for my kids when they were super young too!

I love that you had one and your kids got them, too!

  9. I only watched the first season of You and it was so creepy! Still sends shivers down my spine every time I think about it. I still haven’t touched the second season.

HAHAHA! That’s what it’s supposed to do, I think!

Big wheels were the thing to have when I was a kid too! I wouldn’t mind having an adult size one!

  11. We binged watch YOU season 2 when it aired just like the 1st season. I love the new characters and the twist!

  12. Wow, there was a lot going on today here. I liked the knitted hats most. I had to do a closeup of those photos so I could make out the pattern so I can knit one for myself!

  13. I’m always late to Netflix trends too, and I spent a year on their streamteam. There’s just too much available to watch. Right now since my daughter is learning Spanish, I’m looking for interesting Netflix shows to watch in Spanish.

  14. I want to make the Peanut Butter Bacon Banana Bread. Love all the flavors in one loaf.
