This morning, I (Jeni) am thinking about crazy Texas weather!  It’s always crazy weather here in Texas, that’s for sure.  As you can see, we are all over the place.  One day it’s freezing, and the next it’s in the 60s and 70s.  I LOVE cold weather, so you can see that today (33 high 21 low) is right up my alley and I’m loving it!  I wouldn’t mind trading those 70s days there toward the weekend, for some of your snow days, if anyone is up for a trade! 🙂  I’m pretty bummed we haven’t seen any snow, because I definitely love it!  Like I always say, “go home, Texas, you’re drunk.”  😉

What’s the weather doing where you live?

Well, one of my favorite book series from my childhood and tween years is back in the news again!  Last year, there was an awesome box book series, and now they will be on Netflix!  It will be a live-action series with 10 episodes.  The series will  have all of the girls – Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill and Dawn Schafer, plus new friends.  My favorite part of the series is that they aren’t veering off too far from the books. It will be about the friends deciding to open a babysitting business in their town,  and will deal with issues that the book presented in the 80s. There’s no definite word on when this will be released, but I’ll be on the edge of my seat until then.

Are you excited for a Babysitter’s Club Netflix series!?

These Everyday Tanks are awesome for workouts, lounging, layering, sleeping in and dressing up.  At only $6.99 each, you can grab several in different colors!

This clip-on silicone strainer comes in several colors, is super easy to attach and clean, fits just about every pan and pot you own, AND is just $10!!

I (Sarah) got one of these Bade Jar & Cap Openers for Christmas… and LOVE IT!  It really works and is under $5!

This readRest is too cool!  It’s about 10 bucks and could come in really handy for those that wear reading glasses, but don’t want to wear them on a chain around their neck!

PacMan Plug in Play Game

I (Sarah) am loving this Pac Man 12 in 1 Plug N Play game. It’s a little handheld game pad with joystick that allows you to play classic games like Dig Dug (my personal favorite), Pac Man, Pac Man Plus, Mappy, and more!

What are your favorite video games?

I (Sarah) am loving this cute little Dino Pet. The dinosaur shaped “pet” is filled with Dinoflagellates, a type of marine plankton that make it look like the dinosaur is glowing. I think this is awesome though I haven’t thought it was worth pouncing on the $70 price tag.  It’s currently out of stock right now, which is also helping me not spend the money on it 🙂

What have you bought recently that cost a little more, but was totally worth it?

I (Jeni) have to confess. I LOVE eating ice. I call them “Ice Treats” and could chomp on ice all day. However, I cannot STAND to listen to there people chew on ice 🙂  I grab a cup filled with ice, go into the privacy of my office and chomp away!  I just saw this amazing machine that makes nugget ice – like you get at Sonic!  SO COOL!  It’s about $500, though… and I’d probably be eating my way through a batch and having to wait a long time for new batches to be ready 🙂

Are you an ice chewer?

If you have kids, you’ll love this!  These are the COOLTECH TM Car Seat Coolers.  They are self-insulated and keep your kiddos’ car seats cool for them.  Apparently, they keep the seat cool for 6-8 hours, so when you’re out and about on a hot day, your kid can come back to a cooler seat in the car. Obviously, you’d want these for the summer time when it’s super hot outside. Now if they could make one for adults, that would be amazing!

Do you have kids that complain about hot car seats?

Here’s something I (Jeni) am loving this morning!  I had a fever over the weekend, and was feeling a bit sick.  But my fever broke last night (YAY!!) so I was just feeling a bit sluggish this morning.  I got up to grind my coffee beans and saw that my boyfriend, Bryan, had already filled the grinder and put water in the coffee maker, so it would all be ready for me when I got up this morning.  How sweet was that!?

5-minute donuts & coffee icing

Donuts are by far our favorite thing to eat and goes great with coffee in the morning! HERE is a quick 5-minute donut recipe with an amazing coffee icing!

What do you normally eat for breakfast?

  1. I love that clip-on strainer! It’s crazy weather here in SC too. It’s been so nice but another cold snap is headed our way. Hope this is the last one.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Wow – SC is getting a LOT of crazy weather lately and you have MORE coming?

  2. Missouri is just like Texas, except colder! My aunt lives in Dallas, and she says that Texas and Missouri are both crazy places to live.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Oh wow! – I didn’t know that about Missouri! That’s cool she lives in my town!

  3. We got a little bit of snow overnight. Frigid temps for most of the week, and then warming up by Sunday. Mother Nature is off her meds it seems. That clip-on silicone strainer looks awesome! Will make draining pasta a lot easier at least!

  4. I am in Texas too, so I totally get what you mean about the weather. I am COLD today, and I don’t like it. I’m looking forward to the end of the week when it’ll be warmer.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

HAHA! I love the cold, so I’m soaking it up, but you can have your 60s and 70s days, girl!

  5. The weather has been all over the place too. Two weeks ago I was freezing and this week I may be considering wearing shorts. The weather really needs to make up its mind. LOL

  6. There are so many cool things here in this rundown! My husband and I are on a retro video game kick right now and would love that handheld Pac-man unit. I love the attachable strainers too.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

OMG that’s too cool that you’re doing retro games!

  7. Those donuts look amazing I have got to try that recipe. I can never have enough workout geat so those tanks are great. I have to tell my brother about those car seat covers so helpful for fussy kids.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

The tanks are amazing and I’m buying more today!

  8. I am really looking forward to seeing what Netflix do with the Babysitter Club, I think it could be amazing or at least I hope it will be!

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

I agree – it will be fun to see what they come up with for the show!

  9. We are just cold here. We got more snow over the weekend and I fear it may never all melt away. And once it does, the ground is going to be so muddy. Sigh, I need one of those doughnuts now.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Man….. I’m sorry about the icky, muddy snow ground you have – it’s definitely a drawback to snow!

  10. I’ll be interested to see how the Babysitters Club TV series turns out. Those books were super popular with my daughter and her friends.

  11. I so need that Babysitter’s Club book box set! I used to even watch the movie on repeat! Those were the days when I would read a book in like 2 hours flat!

  12. Okay, I absolutely need that silicone strainer and the jar opener. Those are SO clever and with the limited mobility in my hands, they would be really helpful.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

YES! I have BRUISED my hands trying to open jars. This is SUPER helpful

  13. I grew up reading The Babysitters Club and watching the shows. I recently introduced my daughter to them and she loves them!

  14. Those tanks are an AMAZING idea – love the variety of colors too.

  15. The temps have been all over the place lately Inwple up sick this morning. My allergies and asthma has been unpredictable this year

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Blah, seems like allergies are pretty common right now! I’m so sorry you’re sick and hope you’re feeling better SOON!

  16. The Babysitters Club?! I loved that series when I was a kid. Almost as much as I loved Sweet Valley High.

  17. Wow! The Babysitter’s Club takes me back! I never read them, but they came out when I was in high school and I definitely remember shelving them non-stop at the local library where I worked. Can’t believe they’re finally making a series based on it!

Love that Pac-Man plug-n-play!!!! My all-time favorite game, though, has to be Pitfall!

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

YES! HAHA! The babysitters were EVERYWHERE!
Ohhh Pitfall – now THAT was a game!

  18. Those cooling seat covers are awesome! I wonder how they stay cool in a super hot car or if it feels like sitting on ice.

  19. Oh gosh, Arkansas is right there with Texas. One day it’s 70* and the next it’s 27*. No wonder my head has been pounding…hello allergy season!

  20. Donuts with coffee icing in only 5 minutes? I am in! I am sure will be my new favorite!

  21. These coffee and donuts look so yummy. I love the links you included, can’t wait to check out some of these links and sites.

  22. The weather here in NC is crazy too so you’re not alone. LOL. We had spring-like days last week and now it’s back to winter. Brr!
