Before anyone says, “no way, those look tiny!” or “those can’t be a 12, because they look so small!” – remember that there’s no point of reference in the image – no hand or foot or pencil or anything.  🙂  Now that that is off my (Jeni) chest…. check that out!  It’s not that surprising!  My goal jeans in one brand feel 2 sizes smaller than the brand I have.  It’s pretty crazy, and VERY frustrating.  I can’t just have a goal SIZE – I have goal JEANS that I want to fit into.  I wonder if men have this issue…..

Have you found that sizes differ between brands, too?

I (Sarah) can appreciate art.  I have a different type of style that I prefer, but I appreciate all art.  So when I stumbled upon this sushi art, I was mesmerized!  This guy that goes by the Instagram handle mikyouiOO, wanted to teach his son an appreciation for sashimi – which is a Japanese delicacy consisting of very fresh raw fish or meat nicely sliced into thin pieces.  He started showing his kid, and wanted him to think outside of the box – and that’s how this art form was created!  I look at these and cannot believe they are all FISH!!  It’s pretty incredible!  Talk about playing with your food 😉

What kind of art do you like?

These Lazy Paws Adult Slippers are SO much fun! There are 14 different animal choices, so you’re sure to find one that fits your personality. I (Sarah) just bought myself a little gift – shark slippers!  They are only $17.99, too!

If you’re a cat lover and appreciate steampunk style, you’ll love this.  It’s a steampunk cat necklace   for just $1 + free shipping! SCORE!

These are Snappy Seals and they are magnetic sealers for bags.  They have a “fresh lock seal” that keeps food fresher, longer by keeping the bag closed better than a regular clip. You can also use these for organizing cords (see their suggestion on the site).  A 6-pack is just $14.50!

OMG these Silicone Baking Liners are so cute! This pack of 24 comes with 4 different shapes (6 of each) for just $8.99!  I (Jeni) love the star and heart!

I (Sarah) hate carrying purses.  I’m just not a purse kind of girl.  But I still need to carry my phone, keys, wallet… so this awesome Crossbody Bag is perfect for me!  It’s only $10.99 and comes in a lot of color choices, and has the perfect pockets for everything, without being uncomfortable when I wear it.  If you’re not a purse girl, this is for you!

Are you a handbag or purse kind of girl?

Sonic has a new Brunch Burger.  And it looks AMAZING!  I (Sarah) know that the pictured images are probably plastic and fake, and obviously look nothing like the real food – but dang, these look amazing!  Plus, that’s an amazing deal – only $2.99!?  It’s making me drool!

Do you ever seen ads for food that make YOU drool, too?

UNICORN FANS!  This is SO COOL!  It’s a Unicorn Sconce Wall Light that actually lights up when it’s dark, and looks awesome when it’s light! For the ultimate unicorn fan, only 🙂

Are you on the unicorn bandwagon?

Remember scratch-n-sniff stickers?  These remind me (Jeni) of a mix between those, and the Harry Potter gross jelly beans!  They are stinky scratch-n-sniff stickers and would be such a fun gag gift!  They are cracking me up – here are the scents included: Wet Dog, Race Car, Onion, Zombie, Fireworks, Campfire, Stinky Cheese, Fish, Hot Wings, Bacon, Garbage, Grandma, Dirt, Grandpa, and Cow.

But then, they also have some other not so stinky scratch-n-sniff stickers, too: Chili, Apple Pie, Sour Apple, Spaghetti, Cough Drop, Fresh Bread, Bologna, Baby Powder, Jelly Beans, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Hamburger, Cola, Fruit Smoothie, Peanut Butter, and Marshmallow.

What’s the stinkiest sticker you’ve scratched?

Are you excited for the last season of Game of Thrones?  It’s coming!  And this has to be the ultimate GOT coffee mug, right here. How awesome is that?

Are you a Game of Thrones fan?

This Almond Chicken Salad is something for a little bit lighter dinner. I (Jeni) am going to make it tonight and see how it goes over… but I’m pretty sure it will be a hit!  It’s a summer dish, but I DO live in Texas, where it’s basically summer all the time.  Plus, we LOVE salad, so I’m pretty excited!

What’s your favorite type of salad?

  1. Oh my gosh that sushi art is outstanding. I almost would not want to eat it. I am with you on the whole size thing. There are ones that I can fit into a small size and then the next one of the same size I can’t even put a lake in. I really wonder of men have these problems.

I wonder about men having these problems, too!

  2. I have found that all brands have very different sizing. Some of them are ridiculously small and some seem a bit too big.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Seriously – it’s pretty ridiculous! We need a universal size!

That almond chicken salad looks amazing. I am starving right now and wish I could eat that through the computer.

  4. It is frustrating how different brands fit, I do have that issue with my son – he only wears Levi jeans. Now, he wears one size in one “style of Levis” but other “styles” of Levis fit him differently so he always has to go try them on – and he hates that fact. BUT for women? Yes, brands have the same “size on the tag” but they don’t all fit the same.

  5. The size difference in those jeans is crazy! That crossbody bag looks to be just the right size.

I love that crossbody bag! Glad Sarah shared that with us!

  6. I find that pretty much all clothing runs so different from brand to brand. Some shirts I can fit into a large and others a 2x. It is so weird and frustrating!!

  7. The Game of Thrones coffee mug is awesome! I need to get it for my brother’s birthday immediately!

  8. This Almond Chicken Salad looks so good. I will definitely try your recipe. It has all the ingredients I love!

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

It’s not my recipe, girl – but you should still try it!

  9. I can totally agree with the jeans size!! Very frustrating! Love the cat necklace, too!

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Seriously more than frustrating! But I love the idea to just go with what FITS.

  10. Silicon baking liners are the BEST! They are great for snacks too in a lunchbox to make it cute or for, of course, baking.

I need some and that’s a BRILLIANT idea, girl!

  11. I am a size 12 and I deal with this constantly when I’m on the lookout for a new pair of jeans. I start with a 12 and if they don’t fit well I move up to 14. If I like the jeans and the cut then I get it and I don’t worry so much about the size anymore

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

That’s a great attitude – if they fit, forget about the size!

  12. The jeans size thing drives me crazy. I have so many of the same size jeans that are clearly not the same size and it makes things really difficult.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

Right? I think that’s pretty universal now! So sad.

    • Jeni Hawkins Reply

100% with you there, girl! I wish I could buy online, but then I’m always scared it won’t fit!

Don’t even get me started on women’s sizes! They wonder why women have self-esteem issues and stick with leggings, here’s why! lol
