This week, we had great conversations about The OA season 2, experienced a fun 50s diner, saw Peppa Pig World of Play, ate Lemon Cherry Bars, and had a great time with you!

Grab a cup of coffee (or tea), sit back, and chill out for a bit with us this morning!  We’re so happy you joined us for our morning coffee!  We’ll meet you every weekday morning, right here on the blog, around 8am CST (6am PST, 9am EST) to share a cup of joe with you, talk about what’s on our minds, sneak in some awesome deals we spot, talk about our meal plans for the day, and anything else that comes up!  Feel free to chat it up in the comment section, and tell us how you’re feeling, what’s going on with your life, current events, things you’re excited about or bummed out about, and anything else you want to chit-chat about.

Now….refill that coffee and let’s get to chatting with our Morning Coffee!

You all know how big of a Disney fan I (Sarah) am already.  So you’ll also understand how cool I think this is:  this graphic designer named Matthew Burt, decided that the Disney princesses needed modern day careers, based on their characters. “I wanted to create something that others might look up to,” he continued. “It’s important to show the princesses as strong women because of that influential role they have in society. Everyone should have something that inspires them — especially girls who may want to pursue a career in a traditionally male-dominated field.”

Anna and Elsa are climate change scientists.  Snow White is a psychologist. Ariel is a pop star and record producer. Cinderella is an animal rights activist…. you get the idea.  It’s really cute and such a fun idea to really show who the princesses would be in real life!  Check out the entire collection HERE!
Do you agree with all of the career choices?
If you grew up in the 80s, you remember ‘Teen Magazine.  I (Jeni) came across some images of the covers and was swept away with nostalgia! It’s so much fun to look back at the way we dressed, what we said, ate, danced to, listened to, read, loved.. pretty much everything that a teen could appreciate was in that magazine!
My sister and I would legit get ideas for fashion and style from this magazine.  We would pull pages out of ads for hair crippers and cool socks and save them for our Christmas wishlist.  Entering all of their sweepstakes was a must every month, although we never won. And we would drool over the cute boys, too, of course! 🙂
I also need to give a nod to Teen Beat, Bop, and Tiger Beat 🙂
What was your favorite teen magazine?

For the guitar player – this guitar pick holder keychain is super convenient and very clever.  It’s only about $10, too!

Spring is here, which means more outdoor time!  For those that love hiking and camping, this 16-in-1 Emergency Axe is totally for you!  It’s got some amazing functions and is just $15!

This “Nope Not Today” Women’s Tee is only $6.84, if you can believe that!  How cute is it!?

Now THAT is cool!  This is a 5-piece Magnetic Kitchen Tool Storage Stand, and it’s under $30… talk about space saving!

I (Sarah) really have Disney on the mind this morning!  🙂  And I’m totally ok with that.  LEGO Ideas just launched this new Steamboat Willie building toy to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse.  It was 1928 when he starred in Steamboat Willie in black and white!  The set is $89.99 and 751 pieces.  It has moving parts like steam pipes that move up and down, rotating paddle wheels and more.  Plus, it comes with two new mini figures: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse! 🙂

It’s coming April 1st (Jeni’s birthday!!) so that’s totally even more reason to celebrate! 🙂  You can get it at LEGO starting on that date.

Who is your favorite Disney character?

I (Sarah) love Dragon Ball Z! Watch for free at the Microsoft Store on your Windows PC or any other Microsoft Device (such as Xbox). All episodes from the following Dragon Ball Z series:
Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball

What cartoon show would you like to watch for free?

This mermaid bracelet just stole my (Jeni) heart!  I LOVE IT!  It’s so dainty and sweet and cute…and inexpensive, too 🙂 I’ve always been a big mermaid fan – well, maybe not always, but since The Little Mermaid was released, for sure!

Are you a mermaid fan?

I (Jeni) used to LOVE drinking soda.  My favorite is Diet Coke, but Cherry Coke is right up there, too.  Since getting healthier, I’ve almost completely stopped drinking soda, and now only do once in a while. Even when I do, it’s always too sweet now.  But I miss the fizzy feeling. I found these at Kroger and OMG they are SO GOOD!  They have a bit of flavor (it’s more seltzer than flavor) and are delicious, and make me feel like I’m drinking soda.  Plus, check out the calories and sugars 🙂

What flavors of seltzer do you enjoy?

A Yodeling Pickle.  It’s a real thing, it’s inexpensive AND it’s actually got a 4.6 out of 5 star rating from nearly 700 people. It’s literally a plastic pickle that yodels and would be an amazing gag gift, that’s for sure!  LOVE THIS!

Who would you gift a yodeling pickle to?

Greek Sloppy Joes.  That’s what I (Sarah) will be making for dinner tonight.  It’s something familiar but different and unique.  I like to mix it up a little in the kitchen, because we get bored with the same flavors all the time.  I can’t wait to try these! Get the recipe HERE!

Do you ever try a different twist on a classic recipe?

Don’t forget to join us every Wednesday evening at 4pm EST for Happy Hour!

  1. I loved Teen Magazine! I grew up in the ’70s and I always had the latest copy on my nightstand. That mermaid necklace is adorable.

  2. I used to LOVE Teen magazine, and while I feel the nostalgia in a major way when I look at these photos, I’m always painfully aware that my look could have put me right on the cover of one of those issues. LOL

  3. My daughter would like the t-shirt that says nope not today. Those greek sloppy joes goes against everything I have ever eaten greek but I still want to try them out.
