A cracker brownie? You know it! They are sweet with a hint of molasses and honey in them. They make great pie crusts, snacks with a glass of milk, and yes – brownies! My eyebrow raised when my Gramma told me she was baking and shipping me out some Graham Cracker Brownies. Although I totally trusted anything my Gramma did in the kitchen, I had never heard of these before. But, it turns out, I was right to trust her – because they are amazing! It only takes 5 ingredients to make these. And I would bet you have almost all of them in your pantry right now. Try some new brownies this year, and shock your friends and family by revealing that the secret ingredient is graham crackers!
This recipe is SO simple. It’s a great one to involve the kiddos, too. They can smash up the crackers, mix the ingredients and help put it into the pan.
Note – this recipe is small. It makes about 8 large brownies or 12 little ones. You may consider doubling the recipe for a bigger batch.
What you need:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (you can buy these in the store already crumbed, or just put about 33 squares in a zippered plastic bag and roll a rolling pin over them until they become crumbs)
- 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips (that’s about 6 ounces)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
This is the easiest recipe ever!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Spread into a greased 8-in square baking dish.
Bake for 32-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the brownies.
Cool on a wire rack and cut into squares.
