This appetizer is more of a snack recipe that is awesome for Shark Week or any time. It’s a new favorite of mine (Sarah’s) and it’s called Cake Batter Shark Bait. It combines popcorn, cake mix, white chocolate chips, and gummy sharks into a delectable treat for the entire family.
What’s your sweet snack of choice?
I (Sarah) recently found out about this brewery called Staggeringly Good in the UK that makes dinosaur themed beer. How cool is that? They have dinosaur taps and fun dinosaur themed beers like Post Impact Porter, Dawn Steeler, Veloci Rapture, PteRedactale, ThaiRannocitrus, and StaggerSaurus. This would be an awesome place to spend Happy Hour for sure!
What’s the most unique beer you’ve ever tried?
I (Jeni) LOVE this idea as a great gift for travelers and beer lovers! It’s a USA Beer Cap Map – it holds beer caps from everywhere you go. Pretty neat, right?
Which states would you be able to fill up?
Wow! Combining two wonderful things – ice cream and alcohol. Genius. This place, Tipsy Scoop in New York City, serves up ice cream with a twist. Their ice cream contains 5% alcohol and they make some pretty neat creations! Man – why does Dallas have to be so far from NYC?! 🙁
Have you ever tried ice cream with alcohol infused in it?
These are so amazing! This artist, Carne Griffiths, creates amazing pieces of art using ink, tea and alcohol!HERE That’s pretty clever, and the paintings are really beautiful and intricate. Check out all of her work .
In honor of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, my favorite week of the summer, I (Sarah) am sipping on a Shark Bite Cocktail tonight. It’s the perfect beverage for Shark Week! You can even make a “kid friendly” version using Blue Powerade and Grenadine.
Lookie lookie what I (Jeni) spotted in the beer section at my grocery store! Bud Light Peach-a-Rita. I was pretty excited to try it, and thought it might be pretty tasty. Although it’s yummy – it’s definitely too sweet for my personal liking. It really tastes more like peach syrup than anything else. BUT, I did grab some Heineken, as well, so I have a delicious backup beverage for our Happy Hour! My favorite beer!
What are you sipping on this evening?
I (Sarah) look forward to Shark Week all year long. Every year they hype it up as the coolest thing ever, and every year they haven’t failed to disappoint. This year, I was looking forward to the kick off, Michael Phelps racing a Great White Shark. I knew he was going to wear a monofin, and I knew they wouldn’t put him next to a Great White Shark, but I still thought it was going to be awesome. And then it actually happened, and Michael Phelps raced a CGI shark, and there was no real shark. The whole thing was so disappointing.
Have you ever seen advertising for a TV program that turned out disappointing?
I (Sarah) love Bindi Irwin and the Irwin family. I was so excited when a friend found a Bindi Irwin bendable toy at a local store, since most of the time you have to order the merchandise directly from Australia. Then I actually saw the bendable. I know it’s supposed to be a “young Bindi Irwin” but it looks nothing like her at all! It was so disappointing. I guess I will have to wait until I can get the fashion doll, which looks a lot more like Bindi.
Do you hate when they change celebrities so their merchandise looks nothing like them?
Here’s the deal in Dallas, Texas when it rains in the summer. It’s STILL going to be 95+ degrees. And the wind that comes with a nice, hot ferociousness. So yes, it’s not 105 anymore, but is there REALLY a difference between 95 and 105? Not to me (Jeni). We have storms here – big ones that have lightening and thunder and they are awesome. But in the summer – those storms can make it so much worse. It doesn’t cool off and once the storm passes, it leaves the humidity level even higher – like that’s possible. Oh, and the flies. All of the flies in the state, and all of the bugs anywhere near Texas try to seek refuge in my house. If they want to help pay the bills, great, come on in. Otherwise – Texas summer storms might look beautiful but they are a PAIN!
Do you have great summer storms in your state?
