I, Sarina, was so excited to receive an Intuos Draw Pen Tablet from Wacom. The lightweight tablet is easy to install, and easy to use. It is compatible with Windows and Mac, and can connect via USB or wirelessly (wireless accessories sold separately.) The stylus is ergonomically designed to be used left or right-handed, and the four ExpressKeys give the user easy access to their favorite settings. The overall size of the tablet makes it unobtrusive (8.3″ x 6.7″) yet it is still easy to use, as the majority of the surface area is active drawing area (6″ x 3.7″.) The Intuos Draw Tablet is the perfect gift for my brother-in-law, David. David is a CPA by trade, but in his spare time he loves to design and build furniture! He has an amazing eye for detail, and has created beautiful pieces for his home – loft beds for his kids, beautifully detailed coffee tables, toy chests shaped like Lego pieces, and wall art, to name a few. It’s amazing to see plain lumber from the home improvement store turn into fabulous finished pieces.

Upon finishing his most recent piece – a coffee table with a cross inlay and four drawers – my husband, Jon, and I went over to look at it. David was more than happy to explain to us how he designed it, the difficulties he ran into, and how the finished product was even better than he had imagined. Needless to say, Jon and I were impressed! While sitting around his kitchen table, we saw his hand drawn plans for the coffee table. There were sketches, measurements, colors of different wood stains jotted down. I knew right then and there that I had to get an Intuos Draw Tablet would for David! The tablet comes with a drawing stylus and replacement nibs, a USB cable, and online training and software to get you started. With this tablet, he’ll be able to draw out exactly what he’d like to design, label it with measurements and even paint it in any color.

His next project is going to be designing a chicken coop for yours truly. I have been begging Jon for about a year for some chickens, and now we finally have our backyard set up to accommodate them. All that’s left to do is build them a home! Jon and David have agreed to take my design and bring it to life. I can’t wait to see how David will use his new Intuos Draw Tablet to help him create the plans for my chicken coop!
